Good quality frame. The fasteners are the typical plastic. I knew that going in and ordered high quality metal fasteners. But I am a little picky. Still 5 stars.

Not much can be said about a license plate frame, but this one is nice. I wanted a nice chrome finish plate frame that didn't look chunky or cover up the registration stickers like a lot of other frames do. I stuck two of these on my '68 Pontiac Tempest. The rear plate is embedded in the huge, chromed rear bumper and this plate frame looks great. The front hangs underneath a chromed bumper/"nose" and it compliments the front end well with it's rounded lines. It's purely my opinion but I think these chrome plate frames look best on classic cars with chrome trim as it'll very handsomely mimic all the chrome on the car and really look natural. The thin lines are unobtrusive and compliment things like chrome drip-rails, wheel well trim and decklid trim. Quality is fine for something like this. It's cast metal and chrome plated so don't expect billet machined aluminum or something, but it's sufficiently thick and adequate for it's purpose. Use some nice stainless fasteners to compliment it.

I recently bought a new car and can't stand driving around with the dealer's license plate frames - ugly and why should I advertise for them for free? I wanted something with simple, clean lines, and that's exactly what I got. Many other reviewers noted that these are roughly the same size as the license plate so they sit on top of the license plate instead of the license plate sitting inside of it: that is an accurate representation. However, it presents absolutely no issue in function or appearance, so for me it's just something to note, not something that should keep you from purchasing the product. We'll see how they hold up over time, but for now, I think they are a great deal.

First to address the size complaints. With my tape measure this frame measures 12 3/16 inches by 6". My Massachusetts plate measures 12 3/16 by 6 1/8". As others have mentioned this frame sits on top of the plate. I am pretty particular about how my car looks and I never noticed that the plate sticks out by a 1/16th of an inch on the top/bottom and a touch on the side because it wasn't perfectly even. Even now I have to look to see it and it doesn't bother me.As far as durability - it does not hold up to New England winters. So why 5 stars? Because it's less than 5 freaking dollars shipped. It looks nice through the summer and fall and the next spring I throw on a shiny new one. The slimline frame dresses up the plate a little without looking tacky or drawing attention to itself.

The slim dimensions of it fit nicely with upscale vehicles which have a dash of chrome accents but not overbearing. Only gave it 4 stars because in northern climates, the salt takes its toll after about 2 years. But its so cheap, its no big deal to buy a new one. If you don't mind a little broader frame, the 21010 is stainless and lasts multiple winters without a hint of corrosion. Some people complain that their license plate is too big....the only thing standard about license plates are the mounting holes. The outer dimensions of license plates vary a bit from state to state. Just trim the edge of your license plate if it hangs over. Problem solved.

Ordered cruiser accessories 21350 and returned. Yes it has a slim bezel but its too much recessed. Also seem to be some painted metal other than aluminum. Rust prone? I ordered cruiser accessories 62052 instead and only use the plate frame without the shield (the plate frame of cruiser accessories 62052 does not seem to be available alone). It has a slim bezel, low profile, has a small chamfer, and shinny dark black plastic. The license plate fits perfectly (almost no side-to-side & up-n-down play). Only time will tell of durability. The perfect plate frame would be the exact same plate frame as of cruiser accessories 62052, available as plate frame only, and made of aluminum.
