Probably because you will want different cable lengths for different applications. You do get a useful shockmount and pop filter which I find not common at this price point. **Q: Will this microphone be too light for rode psa1?** A: With pop filter and shockmount, this microphone has a weight of one pound 12 ounces. A bit on the heavy side, but I think the Rode could handle it. (Although I don't have one, the spec sheet says a Rode PSA1 can support over 2 pounds.) **Q: what is the measurement on the housing screw that connects to the stand? mine did not come with an adapter** A: The microphone fits a standard 5/8 threaded Mike stand. **Q: Would this be good for Voice acting microphone?** A: I like the way it sounds but it is not very good with plosives so you will need very good pop filters. for voice work I prefer a EV RE20 or 27. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Exotic and yet efficiently focused and simple condenser mic *by K***K on Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2021* Coming from a basic USB condenser mic (and a headset mounted mic before that) I was looking for an upgrade to the sound, construction, and self noise quality of sound capture for video conferencing, podcasts, streaming, and content creation in general. General sound quality is more than just the microphone but working on every aspect you can control is the way to go and my previous mics definitely had that noticeable self noise present in so many basic models apart from a not so pleasant sound signature.So, here comes the Neat Worker Bee... I was looking at upgrading to an XLR mic to leave the electronics involved in analog to digital conversion to a dedicated and separate equipment which ended up being a Focusrite Scarlett Solo (enough for my needs for now). After watching a couple reviews I came upon one made by Podcastage and it immediately put the Worker Bee and even possibly the King Bee into my field of vision.TBH the King Bee would have been overkill in most respects (especially size-wise) but it was already out of stock anyway. This Worker Bee has in my opinion a very clear and smooth capture, the cardioid pick up pattern works amazingly, can handle peaks better than most condenser mics, and best of all was $90 at the time of buying.As shown in the pictures, I'm using the same boom arm that came with my previous USB mic and even though the Worker Bee has substantial mass, it has proven to be enough to support it after about 7-8 months of use with this mic. The included pop filter works great for me and keeps the bee theme going for the Worker Bee.The shock mount is custom made and working great. If I had to express a concern about this mic it would be related to this mount anyway and that is because being custom, while making it unique, creates a worrying point of failure if it was to fail, break, or otherwise get damaged. I haven't seen any aftermarket replacements for it, maybe the maker community might 3D print something ;)I waited months to write this review so that I could have enough time to let my initial impressions settle and therefore be able to compare to my previous solutions with a more leveled head. If you're looking for a very sturdy mic, with great sound signature, a very reasonable price, and unique looks (or you don't mind about them since sound is first on a mic) then let me tell you that you can't go wrong with this one.This has been such a great buy for me that I can truly recommend this product to anyone in the market for a new mic.PS: I've also read and watched reviews mentioning how good it is as an instrument mic but I can't attest to that personally since that's not my use case. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite condenser mic yet! *by S***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2021* If you're looking for a condenser mic for spoken word applications, get it!!The Worker Bee is adorable, yes, and the packaging is brilliant, but what's more, the sound is INCREDIBLE for the price point!I run a podcast and livestream series for my business, and the Worker Bee is the only condenser mic I've tried yet that has a warm, rich low end, no housing cracking or excessive sibilance in the high end, and a sound I can listen to all day long.What's more, it does great job at rejecting background noise (for a condenser).If you're going to use ANY mic in an untreated room, I suggest upping your gain and speaking more quietly into the mic from about a hands breath away.The one thing I wish the Worker Bee did better at is managing the proximity effect. The low end can get a little muddy with too much proximity, though this is easily tanned with a high pass filter in post. (A high pass physical switch would be nice, but for $90 I'll allow it.)These features make it usable as a day to day podcasting mic even in my untamed room -- and I've done some side by side comparisons with more than a couple of similarly priced mics.It's also fairly heavy, so make sure you tighten up the screws on your boom arm!Oh, and it even comes with it's own shock mount and pop filter -- WHICH IS SHAPED LIKE A HONEYCOMB!!! I had been looking for a replacement for a while for my Blue Snowball USB microphone and after scouring the internet for a while, I decided to grab the Neat Worker Bee. I'm aware that there is a second generation of this product that's less flashy and gets rid of the yellow color that some see as an eye sore, but I wanted the original. Not only is there an included shock mount and pop filter, I actually seem to be in the minority that LIKES the yellow and black design.I'm driving this mic with a Presonus AudioBox USB96 and it sounds great! It seems to favor lows, so if you're looking for something warmer, the AT2020 MIGHT provide a bit more of that. I'm not well versed but I watched A LOT of videos.For the price, it sounds much better than the Blue Yeti in my opinion. That had been my original choice for its simplicity and not needing an audio interface, but I figured if I was going to do it I may as well do it right.My ONLY complaint is the weight.This baby is a chunker. Everything has to be nice and tight for it not to flip around and pull down my boom arm. I was considering the King Bee, but I didn't want to fight with its colossal size and this thing is nothing to scoff at either.These microphones were engineered by the same guys that were responsible for Blue Microphones and were originally significantly more expensive. I believe the original MSRP for the Worker Bee was $199 and the King Bee was $299.
