I have been an avid internet radio fan for years, and have owned at least a dozen different models from different companies. By far, I have more from Ocean Digital than any other. They are highest quality (you can tell from the way the knobs work -- they feel smooth, and accurate) and best value. Extensive stations available, and easy to find. Plenty of storage for favorites. This model is unique because it has stereo built in, making it a great value(as well as my favorite), indeed. Great at bedside. Everything controllable: dimmer, display, information, sleep timer, alarms, etc. They didn't leave anything out.

Worked great for several months, then started powering off after a few minutes. It tries to re-start itself, connects, plays music for a few minutes, then powers off completely. I tried unplugging as others have, did everything I could, but nothing helps. I even turned off the power management...which I hadn't seen in other reviews...didn't work either. Sad. Seems to be the norm for these inferior products made in a particular country...which I'm trying to avoid now if possible.

I'm an old shortwave new radio listener from the 80's, and this internet radio makes a great way to get that world news fix! You can easily find international station names on the internet, and search in the built in database, which is updated periodically over the internet automatically, and lock them in. After that, if you figure out a country that speaks english you can tune into their local newscasts, or find a world city like Barcelona and find an english station there.Really good if one person in the family has a good background in internet geekery. I'm the local nerd and bought a second radio a week later for my older brother-in-law. I program his, and he uses the menu.I found that the android app and webpage-as-a-remote did not work for me. Dunno why, but it's a shortcoming that keeps me from giving it that fifth star. Everything can be worked around though. You can even put in web-only radio stations that it does not know about (found a couple it did know about on it's own!) but you have to twist the dial for each letter in the url, then do the same to program a name for it in your favorites menu. It can be a pain to manually program a web-only station, but once programmed it sticks, so it is worthwhile.Last downside, I'm a universal remote user, and I can't get a code for my universal remote to talk to it with. Thats minor, but an irksome bit for me.I'd recommend this device, I even bought one for brother-in-law. If you get it I hope you love it as much as I do!

This thing lasted exactly six weeks past the return deadline. At that point, it refused to reliably connect to the Internet, therefore could not download its list of stations, or play any one station without repeatedly dropping the signal. Multiple emails to Ocean Digital yielded only one email that said "unplug it for 30 minutes" (I had done that already) and a second one that offered to send me a replacement that was a much lesser radio. Cue Amazon's A-Z "Guarantee". Actually, it was only an A to S Guarantee, as Amazon demanded a "restocking fee" of $20.00. Don't believe Amazon's guarantee promise when you purchase an unfamiliar product from an unfamiliar vendor. Basically, wound up renting a bad radio for four months for $20. I will never again purchase anything with the Ocean Digital name on it, nor will I purchase any electronics from now on from Amazon, as the "A-Z Guarantee" is simply not what it is said to be. However, I do want to credit Loren from Amazon for getting what she could on the refund. She's a good representative and was easy to work with.

Using the app will significantly help with station setup, favorites, etc.Unfortunately my phone would consistently loose connection to the radio. Contacted Ocean Digital customer support and over a couple of days they walked me though resolving the problem (My router needed FW update). Their support was very helpful and responsive.I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I'm disappointed in the over the air FM/antenna performance. When compared to the radio I replaced, It will only tune the very strongest of stations. Otherwise streaming performance is very good.

The set arrived defective. After changing the power adapter, it worked.Amazon sent me a replacement and agreed to allow me keep the radio and accept to discount the price of the first Radio considering the cost of replacement of the adapter.However, subsequently I received a message asking me to return the radio otherwise the full price will be charged to my Visa card. It seems they have a disconnect between what was agreed and the message requesting that I return of the first radio.
