Whether you’re learning or practicing in psych, this book is phenomenal. It’s concise yet comprehensive, making complex topics easy to grasp. A must-have for anyone in primary care or psychiatry—this one definitely earns a spot on the bookshelf!

Looking for a complete and easy to look at psychiatric medications, you can't go wrong. Covers from mechanism of action, to use for, side effects and very practical pearls. A must for any clinician.

Nice synopsis of Psychiatry for PCPs!

Content itself seems good, but the proofreading is questionable! All the authors who are from Louisiana had their locations changed to Los Angeles (so it reads, "New Orleans, Los Angeles"). Clearly someone incorrectly fixed the LA state abbreviation. Hopefully that doesn't mean there are actual medical errors...

As a primary care clinician I am please with the book. It is written by primary care clinicians who are double boarded in psychiatry so it gives a flavor of both ends. Not only do the writers focus on treatments but also how to ask those open ended and tough questions. I really like the AMPS model and time saving strategies. I strongly recommend this book to all primary care colleagues. Questions at the end of each chapter could be a little shorter but it makes the book a little more readable. Maybe interspersing those questions in between the chapters so as not to break the continuity could help spice up reading experience.

Well written text, nice electronic component

I bought this because I was under a fellowship of two of the authors. They've added more authors. It's has a lot of the same content as the first edition and more. It's a bit more fluffy, I had to do more skimming. The main plus is the updated info since the first edition was 10 years ago. This book is a bit more academic than practical compared to the first book.
