Worth Every Penny - High Quality Build, Comfortable, and Easy to Assemble
As a person who sits in an office chair all day, I'm very interested in high quality chairs that are comfortable and enjoyable to sit in and don't break the bank. More than just comfortable and enjoyable, they need to be supportive enough to be enjoyed for 9-11 hours a day (if needed). The long and short of it is, the X-chair has been phenomenal. I'll break down the whys a little more below, but I can confidently say this is one of the most comfortable chairs I've ever used and it stays comfortable for the duration of use (good support).Comfort: with so much work from home now, it seems to me that everyone should be looking at upgrading their chair if for no other reason than just to make sure they are comfortable in their home office / spare bedroom, etc. The X-chair delivers in spades - seat is plush without feeling squishy, the back is conforming while providing a great level of support and encouraging good posture. Lumbar support is a well dialed in (though it came out of the box working well for me). The only piece I didn't love was the headrest. Don't get me wrong, I want to like it (chair looks better with it), but I need the ability to adjust how far forward it sits (allows tilt and up/down). Arm rests are an ideal size and adjust beautifully. It only took me 5-7 minutes to dial in my settings and feel like I could sit in it for days.Quality / Construction: $1,000 for an office chair is not a small amount of money, but it's also by no mean exorbitant considering how much time I spend it in. My rule is to pay good money for 'contact points' - beds, chairs (used frequently), couches, etc. Those are worth the extra investment for sure. In this case, I wanted to know how much better this chair was than my $200 Staples office chair. I already addressed comfort, and yes, it is way more comfortable and supportive than the $200 office chair it replaces, but the component quality (since I had to construct it) was noticeable from the start. Good quality metals, soft plastics where they should be, very smooth rolling wheels, and an all-around weight that let me know this was not designed nor made cheaply.Assembly - if you can assemble any piece of simple Ikea furniture or lego set, this will take you all of 15-20 minutes to put together. Very, very easy to do and the instructions were simple to follow. If you are in the market for a new chair, save yourself the time of searching and comparing and get this chair - it's handsome, comfortable, built to last, and won't break the bank.

Seriously sturdy, commercial grade office chair
Assembly:First off, this is a heavy chair--something to be mindful when assembling. I actually put it together with my 8 year old in less than 30 mins. Pretty straightforward set up, though I would recommend assembling it in the room where you intend to use it given the heft of the chair.Support/adjustment:Clearly it is built for heavy duty use (very sturdy and high quality components). The seat is solid and supportive. The lumbar support was hitting a little low for me until I adjusted the back. I work from home and sit at my desk 8+ hours a day. I've been using the X-chair for two weeks and have noticed that occasionally I need more lumbar support so have a softer pillow to wedge for my lower back. I also often sit cross-legged. Luckily the arm rests can be adjusted out to give more room for my knees. When I lean back I feel supported, though the lean is a little stiff. If you prefer a springier lean, this might not be the chair for you. It is generally a comfortable chair and one that I know will hold up for years given the high-quality materials.Appearance:Here is where I think something like the Aeron has one-up on the X-chair. I've always liked the Aeron's sleek design. The X is not quite as easy on the eyes--looks more like a gamer's chair than an office chair, but I chose to not add the headrest (since I don't really use one), and it has improved the appearance.

A solid office chair
I had my doubts on whether or not I’d like the chair but took a chance on it and I am really glad that i did. I appreciate how adjustable this chair is. Took me a little bit of tweaking to get the perfect fit but well worth it. It is extremely comfortable and supportive.I was honestly not sure if i was going to return or not, as i was previously using a Herman Miller, but after comparing both, this was the one for me moving forward. The only cons i have are with the packaging and delivery. Having ordered a Herman Miller in the last year, it it was already assembled and just rolled it out of the box. At this price point, it would be nice to have it already assembled. Also, when the chair was delivered, there was some liquid that was spilled on the box (not sure what it was). This was more of an issue with Amazons delivery though.

Extremely well built and comfortable chair
I don't know what people are talking about when they say this office chair has no lumbar support. It supports my lower back perfectly. At its lowest setting it's the perfect hight with my keyboard tray under my table. As far as I'm concerned it's the correct ergonomic hight. It's also all metal base probably coated stainless steel finish. My last chair also tilted too far and I even fell a few times. No such problem here. Do yourself a favor spend the money I'm pretty sure you won't regret it. Those who complain about the cost must put a different value on their back health and comfort.
