Sturdy machine
There is a bit of set up involved after unpacking both heavy boxes. I had to tweak a bit to get everything square and coplanar but once I did everything works well. Then I noticed that there were a couple of divots in the fence and a few scratches. I contacted Grizzly and they shipped me a replacement fence very quickly. Unfortunately, the fence they sent me wasn't much better so I sent it back and I'll just keep the fence with the minor imperfections, I'm hoping that it won't rust from those divots but I live in Southern California where it's quite dry.Overall, I'm very happy with this machine and the results I'm getting with it.Grizzly customer service is excellent by the way.

Delivery Can Be Easy
Just ran my first wood. Compared to my bench top Delta, the Grizzly G0452 is a dream. Flat, smooth surface with no visible taper. From all the other reviews, here and elsewhere, I am sure this machine will do the job for me. I'll typically be working with rough sawen lumber, 18 inches to 60 inches in length. My main concern in purchasing this jointer was the delivery and getting it into my basement. No worry. I did pay the extra 'tail gate' service, but the driver used my applience dollie to wheel it down my long drive and into my basement (down 4 outside steps) fo me. Set-up was pretty much a snap. I was worried that the weight might be too much for lifting the tables and cutters onto the base, but no real problem. My wife helped me lift it on the base. We are both in our 70's and not big in size, but the two of us lifted it onto the base with no real strain. Assembly just took a little patience, but no problems. Getting the grease off the parts was also easy using the same non-chlorine cleaner I use on my other tools. I only gave it four stars because I haven't run a lot of wood, but when I do, I'll update the review.

Good machine and great customer service.
While I was assembling my new jointer I noticed a crack at the bottom of the base under the in feed table. I called Grizzly and they immediately coordinated the shipment of a new jointer assembly. I was very pleased with the responsiveness to get this problem corrected.Just a note to anyone buying this machine. Make sure you annotate even the most minor damage to the shipping container when you received the two boxes that make up this order. While I did not see any damage when I picked up my containers, the box holding the jointer table and assembly was upside down. Since there was no "This Side UP" sign on the box I didn't think anything of it. After getting it home and turning it upright, I did notice some damage under the shipping straps. I think the box rolled off the side of pallet during shipping and landed upside down and the shipper just left it that way. Not sure!Back to the jointer! Assembly took about an hour and was very straight forward with good instructions on how to put the jointer together. When checking the table set up I found the out feed table a smidge low but easily adjusted. It took a little longer to get the fence set at 90 degrees. It would've been easier with two people, one to hold and read the engineer's square and another to manipulate the fence to the correct position. Once the set up was complete the jointer hums along just fine. This is a pretty easy tool to work with. I pass my boards over the knives a little slower than with an industrial grade jointer, but for a home workshop this is a great tool. So far, I've experienced minimal to no snipe and suspect the snipe will go away completely as I get more familiar with using this machine. The dust removal is excellent and I love the switch placement. I'd prefer a hand wheel on the in feed table instead of the lever because with a lever you can't easily fine tune the depth of cut, but I knew this before I bought the tool.Overall, I think this is an excellent tool for the home workshop. And mobile!

Grizzly bear
I'm pleased. The only problem I have with it, is that my vacuum cannot handle the amount of saw dust this thing outputs. I have to open it up every now and then to clean it, but I think its a problem with my vac and not the design of the Jointer. I'm a big fan of Grizzly products now and will most likely use them in the future when I need to get additional equipment for my workshop formerly known as my garage.

You get what you pay for. I bought the Porter-Cable pc160jtr jointer for two hundred and some change and ended up sending it back. Curved joints simply will not do. So I asked the local Powermatic dealer for his opinion on Grizzly jointers and he told from his experience he had seen a hit or miss scenario with their products. Not only is this thing a hit, it is a home run right out of the park, over the parking lot and across the state line. Dead on accurate right out of the box. It took a little less than an hour for assembly and clean up. I would recommend this jointer to anyone who wants to get what you pay for in a very good product.
