Well-written--a great overview of a wide range of topics related to women's health and beauty
Refreshing to have a book be so well-organized and enjoyable to read. It covers a wide range (in both health and beauty) and gives you a great overview that can serve to pique your interest in any number of topics. For example, it introduces you to the Ayurvedic approach and gives you enough information that you know whether this is something you want to pursue further or not. It also covers topics in women's health that are often not addressed fully in the doctor's office (usually due to lack of time). The information in the book goes over symptoms of common health problems that would be easy to miss so the reader can be a partner in her healthcare with her physician. I liked the writing style enough that after reading this book, I looked at what other books have been written by these two writers and bought "The Body Scoop for Girls" for my friend's daughter, who loved it.

I loved this book!
As a 42 year old woman, I was so excited to read a book that I felt was written just for me. Dr. Ashton has a very responsible approach to health and beauty which I really admire. This book covers every aspect of women’s health and outlines highly effective diet, health and beauty regiments that are manageable and easy to maintain. She reminds us that we need to be committed to our health and with a little bit of effort the reward is that we can stay young and fit well into our 40’s and 50’ and beyond! Also, it is highly informative regarding health related topics that women need to be aware of. Such a great book full of so much helpful information, I keep going back to it to reference information. The strawberry & spinach protein shake recipe is great!

Good read
I read the book in a couple of days. I am a practicing ObGyn as well. The book is well-written and it should be a "must-read" for those who provide care to women. I recommend that women of all ages keep this book in their personal libraries. More importantly, as an obese physician, I found Dr. Ashton's recommendations on weight loss and wellness very useful. Approaching weight loss with the five days on/five days off approach is reasonable. (I can do anything for five days). Oftentimes I feel that my obesity gets in the way of my ability to advise patients on the benefits of healthier living. While I work towards wellness, I will continue to recommend that my patients read YOUR BODY BEAUTIFUL. It elegantly explains the message I wish to convey.

Good Info
I bought this book for the diet. Great info for someone in their 30's and 40's to start as a complete program. I am 61 and it is a little late in life to get the full benefit. The diet is great and easy to do. Taking the weekend off is like a treat for things you miss. After being on the diet it gets easier on the weekends, you really don't crave some of the things you use to.

Great advice . . . gave me the longview.
This is a great book. If you are looking for clues on the best way to set yourself up to live a healthy life for the rest of your life, this is a great book. I like that Dr. Ashton also attempts to offer natural solutions first before recommending medical interventions. I bought this book for my sister, too. She really liked it, as well.

very disappointed
I had seen Dr. Ashton on Dr. Oz and was piqued by her 2 minute segment on women'shealth and beauty tips. So much so, that I decided to order and read her book.I was so disappointed when I got into the book. Maybe if I hadn't of read, "Women'sBodies, Women's Wisdom", by Dr. Christiane Northrup first, Dr. Ashton's book wouldof been very informative. But, I found it lacking. I skipped alot of pages concerningthe age bracket of women in their 20's, 30's, since I'm over 60. There was nothing newin her overall beauty plan that is not already recommended by every doctor out there...diet,exercise, sleep and reduce stress. I'm not upset by purchasing her book, sinceI plan to donate it to my library and it can be available to other women who might benefitfrom what she has to say.

Total waste of money
I just flushed $17 and change done the toilet. I saw Jennifer Ashton on Dr OZ where she was discussing how you should not put anything on your face that is not pure enough to eat. Ashton and OZ had a table full of food products such as spices and honey that could be used on the skin. Being on TV there was limited time to go into all the possible recipes (supposedly Ayurvedic in origin) that were implied to exist. The strong impression was given during this segment, that if you purchased Ashton's book one would get all the information that there was not time enough to discuss on the show. So, I bought the book hoping to learn something new and useful.... The book turned out to be 95% allophic, main stream advice which has already been repeated several times over, most which I would never follow. There were only two Ayurvedic food recipes for the skin. Very disappointing, I'm actually embarrassed to have the book in my possession.

Wish I heard of this book sooner
This book is amazing in encouraging people a better and more sensible way to take care of your body for the long haul. I've applied the tips and food suggestions and I am seeing great results.
