About how thick & how soft are these shields?

I estimate that they're 1/8 of an inch thick at the thickest part and they taper to very thin at the edges. They're very soft and squishy. The feel of them reminds me of those "sticky hand" toys, only without the stickiness. And not quite so stretchy.

Will these work on the "Big Toe"?
