Dorman 425-358 Steering Shaft Universal Joint Compatible with Select Ford / Mazda / Mercury Models

Well just had this installed by my mechanic, he was very surprised when I told him the same brand and product for a third of the price then at the parts shop in town, so great find for $40. Completely fixed the noise for steering, and took about 30 minutes for him to install, no problems. I'll update if I end up having issues with it, but hopefully it lasts me another 5-10 years.

Had a "clicking" noise whenever the wheel was turned to left or the right.Did some digging on YouTube for this issue for this vehicle and found a few really good videos that show how you can do the job yourself.I am by no means an expert mechanic, but am ok and figuring stuff out.Hardest part on this was needing an impact wrench with the 2ft extender and 14mm swivel to get the bolt undone from under the car.And next hardest part was new part would not easily slide back onto each shaft. Had to get a strong flat head screwdriver to separate the spaces on each end just enough to get it to slide on each end.Overall for about $28 bucks and an hours worth of time got the job done

Installed this a few months ago and it has developed a slight moaning noise when turning the steering wheel. The universal joint is still tight so I'm going to leave it as is.

Bought cheaper unit. It was worse than the old one I was trying to replace. Came back and bought this one from Dorman. Problem solved, good quality.

No recomiendo esta pieza es muy mala, al girar en volante este se siente más pesado y se tranca por lo que debo aplicar fuerza para poder girar algo que con la pieza vieja no pasaba, no recomiendo y según pasa el tiempo se pone peor. Vote la pieza vieja y ahora está está cada vez peor voy a tener que comprar otra para que está no valla a dañar algún componente de la dirección.

I had to replace original part because of popping sound. I got this one because of cheap price. The part looks thinner compared to original, it was easy to install. The box say Dorman part.

Does the job, time will tell. Much less rugged than the factory unit, it is working ok but I plan to bite the bullet and buy a factory one which is approx. 30 dollars more. As far as fit and function it's fine tho.

Good is look professional made.Bad is not good performance and incorrect cut.Both side upper and lower shafts still loose, even tigh the bolt. And it's making pop sound and knuckling.The pictures include the unmarked is from other sellers incorrect cut also.The mark ink is from doorman.I have no idea why different products designed very different from original. Other photo is original vs third party products.They should copy the original before production.

J'ai installé la pièce il y a 14 jours et déjà après 400 km, le bruit à recommencé. Je vais vérifier si je peut retourner le produit defectueux.
