Graftobian Make-Up Sponge
I bought this product because I was looking for a sponge similar to the Max Factor sponge, which is impossible to find at a reasonable price. The picture and the description sounded like this might be a good substitute, so I ordered several so as not to run out and have to go to the same trouble again to find a suitable make-up sponge. The sponges arrived on the exact date that I was told. As soon as I opened the box I could tell it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, and when I first used a sponge it turned out it was a little bigger and not quite as soft as I expected. I did notice on the package it said for use with "face paint", which to me is not the same as everyday make-up, but it works ok for my purposes. For the price it's worth the small inconvenience, as the only Max Factor sponge I did find cost just about as much as the several sponges I bought (which is ridiculous since I used to buy them for around $5).

Love these sponges - not sure about the size change...
I don't know what happened - this sponge seems to have shrunk? I've been ordering the same ones for almost a year and all of a sudden my last order the sponge size is much smaller. It still works really well - I love the dense texture and the slight abrasiveness of the sponge. It applies primer beautifully and also blends like a dream. Once you break the sponge in it softens up a little bit. I swear by these type of sponges to moisturize, apply base primer, blend concealer and blend blush. I just wish the size was the same.

A good substitute
After trying several different cosmetic sponges to apply foundation, I found this one and I like it. It's a bit larger than necessary, but that's a small criticism. After several washings, it has softened a bit. Overall it does a nice job, makes application quick and easy, and is an acceptable substitute for the beloved MF sponge to apply foundation (wouldn't you think these manufacturers would try to replicate the MF kind, since we all loved it so much?!!). Cleans easily too using Dial (bar soap). I recommend this sponge for those of you looking for a good sponge.

A fine substitute for a Max Factor make up sponge
I'm one of those who have been enamored of the Max Factor make up sponge for longer than I care to remember. So I was pretty depressed when I lost my cosmetic bag with the last of my treasured MF make up sponges. Tragedy! A search of Amazon returned many options, including this sponge. I had some trepidation because it seemed like this one was originally intended to be used for theatrical or "clown" make-up. - don't let this keep you from trying this sponge. It's light weight, soft when dampened, doesn't over-absorb liquid foundation, and applies foundation smoothy and evenly - not theatrically, or clown-like at all! So glad to have found this sponge, and while it's no substitute for my beloved MF sponge, I'm glad this product is available. And for the price, it's a pretty low risk investment, if you're looking for a Max Factor alternative.

Sponge
This is a sturdy sponge that can be used for alot of things. It was a little too corse to use to apply makeup on my face. But i can see other uses it wil work well with.

Closest I've found that's comparable to Max Factor's Cosmetic Sponge
This is the best sponge I've found that's comparable to Max Factor's Cosmetic Sponge. It's a little rough and big but gets the job done way better than any other sponge I've tried so far. It's softening a bit so that's good. It says it's used for face painting and can be cut into different shapes so that's a plus too. Sad though, I miss Max Factor. Anyone know where their sponge went?

which I loved and are no longer made
This is the closest I've found to the old Max Factor makeup sponges, which I loved and are no longer made. However, it's a stiffer sponge material and significantly bigger. So I took a scissors to it and modified it into a shape (oval) and size that I like better. I sure miss the old Max Factor ones.

To scratchy for me.
Nice size and easy to clean. But, way to scratchy for me. I have sensitive skin and it roughed my face up a bit. So, use it lightly.
