TaylorK-1003 Safety Plus Swimming Pool Chlorine Bromine pH Alkalinity Test Kit

I bought this to test my hot tub bromine and PH levels. It is AMAZING – one of the better decisions I’ve made in terms of purchases for the hot tub. It is very easy to follow the directions, and saves a lot of money. I was using the individual test strips, but was getting frustrated because I was spending about twenty dollars per month on the strips. In addition to being expensive, the strips are hard to tell what the actually chlorine/bromine level is at. With this kit, the levels you need to check are very clear. Because of that, it will save you money by not using unnecessary chemicals. This is a really good tool for if you want to keep chemicals balanced and check daily, but don’t want to pay a ton of money in the individual test strips. I only routinely do bromine and PH tests, but love this kit because I have the capability of running pretty much any test I would need to maintain chemical balances in the hot tub. It comes with instructions, a tube to help fill the testing canister with water, the testing canister, all of the drops needed to check levels for all of the necessities for balancing the chemicals, and a case to hold all of the supplies I just listed. I have already recommended to all of my friends that have hot tubs. Taylor is a great, trusted brand for all chemical pool or hot tub supplies. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

This kit is great value, high quality and will save you time and money in wasted chemicals in the long run. I have been using my kit weekly on my hot tub for a year and most of the bottles of indicator solution are still more than half full. Even if you are confident enough in test strips to know whether your pH, alkalinity and bromine/chlorine levels are in range, they are absolutely not good enough to guide accurate adjustments especially to pH and alkalinity. This kit comes with a concise guide on waterproof paper that tells you exactly how to perform and interpret each test. If pH or alkalinity is out of range, the simple acid or base demand test will show you know exactly how much acid or bicarbonate to add for your spa size. Testing chlorine/bromine and pH is so easy that I stopped bothering with test strips altogether. Testing alkalinity is a little more involved but I normally only do it when the pH is high. If alkalinity is high then you will need more acid to get the pH back into range, but this kit takes away all the guess work. You should not settle for less than this kit, but you also don't need to pay for anything more if you have a spa or hot tub.

I've been using test strips for a long time. After frustration frequently with different shades of color within the PH and Alk squares I knew I needed something else. I use the strips still for quick checks but I can use this test kit to make sure all is well. I like this kit because it's easy to use it has simple directions and the box is well organized. I highly recommend!!

Everything needed to test a pool is included but the instructions are incomplete. My previous Taylor test kit came with a chart to determine how much of what chemical needed to be added. The instructions included with this kit only advise you to contact your local pool supply store. If I'm going to contact them, why not just take the water sample in and let them test it? Luckily I still had my old instructions or this kit what be somewhat useless.
