This DVD does NOT load
I have THREE DVD players in my home and we tried LUCY in ALL THREE and it does NOT load in any one of them. I won't return it because I paid enough already in time and cash. I'd hesitate to buy anything from that seller.

DVD Format cannot be viewed in the US
The format is for countries other than the US. If you have a DVD or Blu-Ray player that can read formats from other regions; you might be able to watch this DVD. Good luck.

Read the fine print!
Did not realize this was not for viewing on USA DVD player. Product should have been better depicted as worthless to American consumer.

4K UHD version
Bought this as a tester for my fancy new telly, sound bar and 4k blu-ray player. I don't know any of the correct techy words to describe the tech, but the picture is knockout, the sound is massive, the sun is shining and my wife is hot. Everything is awesome, and I'm glad I bought it all. £20 seems steep when the DVD is so cheap, though. Something should be done. First ten minutes are about as exciting as I've ever seen! My wife is still reading this over my shoulder.

I am everywhere
"Lucy" is an intriguing film about the apotheosis of a fairly ordinary young woman who gets involved with some unpleasant Taiwanese drug smugglers. She has a pouch of a new ,blue coloured drug inserted into her stomach and is told to be a mule, but after being assaulted the bag burst and her body is filled with the substance. The drug expands the use of the brain and Lucy acquires superhuman powers as she makes her way to Paris to meet a famous scientific researcher, played by Morgan Freeman. He has theorised in the field of cerebral expansion and Lucy demonstrates to him her new abilities. Meanwhile the drug smugglers are hot on her tail and they are heavily armed and determined. Can anything stop Lucy from reaching omniscience and godhood ? This film explores interesting ideas and concepts and it is well filmed with some good action scenes as well. Scarlett Johansson is excellent as the super charged heroine.

Superb movie on 4K
Treated myself to a 4K player and Lucy was one of the films I purchased to showcase my TV and player off and it didn't disappoint..I'm not reviewing the movie itself because that's a personal taste..but the actual disc itself was top notch...4K is not all about sharpness,it's also about colour and presentation..The HDR gives the movie more depth and even dark areas are easily visible...The sound too is fantastic giving those special effects more punch and the steering is superb..If you like Lucy then you have to get this on 4K...Just be aware it's 2:40:1 which means the usual black bars top and bottom but because of the crispness you can stretch it out a little with most modern TV's and some players and still leave you with a fabulous picture..Recommended

'GOOD 'SCI-FI' OFFERING'
Another movie that seems to have attracted contrasting reviews from film critics and reviewers alike....I have to admit i love special-effects lavished Sci-fi movies, and look to be entertained, this one fits the bill, for me.The film kicks off with 'Lucy' being coerced into delivering a briefcase to a Chinese Drug-Lord, it soon becomes obviousfrom the outset she is obviously out of her depth, and in fear for her life. She is effectively been made their prisoner, they implant a package in her mid-drift, it's intended that she be used as amule for them, whilst still in captivity and after the implant, one of her guards beats her, kicking her in the stomach, releasingsome of the synthetic drug into her body. The effects make her something less than the frightened woman of earlier, she engineers an escape from her captors, onthe outside her first thoughts are to have the implant removed forcing a surgeon to perform the procedure. The bag removed, much of the remainder of the contents now in her system, her very being is hugely enhanced, the substanceis gradually unlocking up to 100% of her brain-capacity........what has she become ??She turns to writer and college lecturer 'Professor Norman' (Morgan Freeman) for help, he's written on the subject of 'Human and Animal's use of brain capacity.........can he help 'Lucy' or will her abilities be beyond his comprehension. Her new-found powers and there use has made her wanted by the 'Law' and hunted by the Chinese Drug-Lord.....and perhaps little time to live.An enjoyable and often exciting watch, that could 'blow your mind' - 'Scarlett Johansson' lights up the screen as 'Lucy'Bonus Features - The Evolution of Lucy* Cerebral Capacity - The Science of Lucy

Utter nonsense
The saving grace being the leading actors performance and the art direction. Other than that it is awful. The film tries to use scientific terms to give a foundation to the ludicrous story line and gets it wrong every time. I paid 67p for the blue-ray version- says it all really. Off to the charity shop (when it opens).
