Cashel Crusader Fly Mask, Long Nose with Ears

These masks are perfect in every way. The warmblood size fits my three draft horses like a glove. The mesh does not rub their eyelashes like other brands I’ve tried. They stay put and keep the flies out of their eyes. The bright orange color is a bonus.

Fits perfectly. Looks great and you can see through it well. Great for riding or as eye and ear protection while traveling in the horse trailer.

Love this fly mask. I have it with and without ears. My Irish Draft has a wide forehead, and some masks lay on his eyes and have caused an eyes ulcer in the past. This mask is wider and stiffer, so the material is far from the eyes. The ears are a generous size with plenty of room for airflow. Most importantly he is very comfortable in it and doesn't rub it off.

EDIT: it lives! My horse got this mask off like three months ago and it was missing in his field in the tall grass for the entire summer. This past week it was found! They stomped it into the ground but it’s still completely intact. No rips or tears. It just needs to be washed and it’s good as new! Very impressed! For the week and a half he had it on before it vanished into the tall grasses of the unknown, this worked great! I’ve got a walker and his head is large and in charge. This fit him perfectly and kept the gnats out of his ears. The Velcro is as strong as can be expected but he’s a horse, so him getting it off on his own does not surprise me in the least. I’m hoping once the grass dies down for the winter I’ll find it because it really did the trick and I liked it better than other ones I’ve had previously. Also it looked mighty spiffy on him.

I really love Cashel fly masks. They are well made and reasonably priced. However, this one didn’t work for riding at least with my big boy. I think because of the seams by his eyes it may have created a problem with him seeing clearly. He hardly ever spooks and on my ride today he spooked twice and almost lost me. We were on the same trail we always ride annd the only difference was the mask.

These are the best fly masks on the market IMO. They’re well made, durable and have a lot of different size options, so they fit a lot of different breeds of horses really well. My horse wears them year round due to an eye issue and they hold up for years.

I have used this mask years ago and it was my favorite one. It stayed on my horse, j could see his eyes through it, so I knew HE could see easily through it as well! It's softer than the traditional masks and I always get the ones with the ears not to keep the annoying flies out but also to keel ticks out of his ears. I keel him turned out 24/7 weather permitting and ticks have been spotted around the yard and on a neighboring horse. This gives me peace of mind that ticks won't be camping out in his ears since it's a hard place to find them in. I ordered the Warmblood size because, although my guy is a Warmblood (Hanoverian), I forget that he's enormous (18.3hands) and is bigger and has a bigger head than any other horse I know. His head is probably bigger than most drafts but maybe not as wide...but because most reviews had said that the Warmblood size ran really big, I thought that maybe the draft size would run big too since I was originally going to buy that one. So I thought, that I could get away with the Warmblood if it ran "way too big.". Unfortunately, this was so tiny on him that his eyelashes were smoothed against the front of the mesh and he could hardly open his eyes.. so I suppose if you have a normal size Warmblood around the 17 hand range, it would fit nicely. I would say if your horse is between 16.2-17.2, it would be a good fit depending on the breed though. My friend has a 16.3 hand TB and his face is much narrower than a warmbloods and is way too big for him. I reordered the draft size like I shod have done originally lol...should be here tomorrow and then I will write a review on how it holds up with my boy. Fingers crossed that one fits!! If it's the same quality as years before, I'm sure I will love it. It's perfect for riding...great visibility and softer than the average. My last horse never rubbed it off either. I see some reviewers saying it's not as durable...well no, given the design, I would think it would be obvious it won't be as durable as those ugly, stiff mesh masks that hardly feel flexible at all. I do feel like, as long as you know your horse isn't a fly mask murderer, it will hold up fine. Just make sure you check the fence for any sharp parts that could potentially rip it. Otherwise, if your horse is rough on its masks, keep this one to ride with only since it's got much better visibility and is safer. Use the ugly ones for turn out! I'm expecting the mask to be the same great quality as before. I'm impressed with all cashel products. They have never let me down and they don't break the bank!

I bought a horse size for my 165cm tall horse, fits him perfectly.

Mon cheval ne porte jamais de masque à mouches. Le fit est parfait par-dessus sa bride, nous sommes partis en rando 4h et jamais le masque n'a semblé l'incommoder! J'ai le noir, il est très beau. Reste à savoir s'il le restera longtemps!

Diese Fliegenmaskenart habe ich seit letztem Jahr in Gebrauch. Sie passt meiner Quarter Stute sehr gut. Da sie einen recht kurzen Kopf hat, ist es immer etwas schwierig, was passendes zu finden. Außerdem ist sie recht empfindlich und hat schnell Scheuerstellen. Diese Fliegenmaske, Größe Araber, ist endlich eine, die perfekt ihren Job macht und keine Scheuerstellen verursacht. Einen Punkt muß ich leider abziehen, denn inzwischen wurden die Ohren verlängert. Passend auch für Mulis, die in den USA weiter verbreitet sind als hierzulande. Das alte Modell war für meine Anforderungen perfekter. Trotzdem bleibt es ein gutes Produkt.
