Dissolved and precipitated iron compounds found in water are a nuisance as these impact water systems in multiple ways. Besides the taste, odor, and color, iron compounds also stain laundry and other porous materials. Water systems will often use a pre-filtration system to intercept most of the larger particles, but dissolved iron remains to be intercepted at a later time and captured by water softening and conditioning systems.One vexing problem is the staining that remains on the plastic housing of a filtration system (see Before photo). Sure, it could be scrubbed using a tedious process, but there is an easier way to remove the stain–Whink Rust Stain Remover.It is a simple process. First, unscrew the plastic housing from the system. Second, place the housing in a sink, remove the enclosed filter, and empty the contaminated water. Third, starting at the top of the housing, gently squirt Whink along the inside of the housing while slowly turning it until completing a 360º rotation. As the Whink flows down to the bottom, the rust stain will be dissolved on contact. Last, to complete the process, rinse the housing with hot water to remove any residual contamination (see After photo).

When the bottles first arrived, they were sealed however some of the liquid had leaked out. It wasn’t a lot so it wasn’t a big deal. Now, I had to remove stains that were almost a decade old. Nothing seemed to put a dent in the stains. I applied some of the solution directly to the stains and let it set. It wasn’t quick and I had to keep reapplying, but I was finally able to remove them by scrubbing very hard with a toothbrush. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

We use this product to keep out toilets white. We can't find it locally anymore & I kept trying other products but nothing compared. Happy to fund it on amazon, albeit pricey.
