brown stains
I bought one pair and I really liked the socks, so I purchased two more pairs.Unfortunately, these came with brown stains as seen in the picture, which indicates poor quality control. If something as visible as these stains pass through their quality control, then what can we expect about other properties of the material which are not this easy to see?

Nice Socks.
This is a nice pair of socks. I know they are supposed to be "Performance Based Gear", but I'm assuming that they work for people like me who don't play pro, semi pro, or anything at all, just hike. I love to hike, and my boots are always attached to my feet, so I'm always on the lookout for great socks that make hiking more comfortable. These don't say that they are designed for this, but thought I'd try them anyways. For me, they are to thin, and way to tight. I realize that they are designed to be compression fitting, but I could barely get my foot in these. I'm not trying to knock them, because they are a great pair of socks, and once on, feel very nice. With sneakers these are excellent, and other than the extremely tight fit, felt great. With boots, not so good, to thin and not enough padding on the bottom (again, these don't say they are designed for hiking boots), but it didn't hurt to try. If you are active and play sports like I hike, then these are for you. At $15.95/pair (as of this review), I think they are kind of pricey, but for guys/gals who are extremely active ball players, or similar sport loving enthusiasts who get into the game often, these may be right up your alley. The 1 star knock-off was for the price and nothing else. They are well made and nicely designed, just not for me.

Combination of an athletic sock and compression sock
I've been using these socks for about a month now, and I find that I both like and dislike them. The thing I like is that they are lightweight and slip easily inside my running shoe. This slippage does not produce any blisters or anything like that, but they are nice, thin sock. The downside for me with these socks is that they resist going on and coming off. They are pretty much skin tight once you get them on, and there is a fair amount of compression that takes place while they are on. Interestingly, my feet don't feel particularly squeezed once they are one, but it can be a job compared to most socks just getting them on. I have to pull them three or four times to get the job done. All in all, I find them to be nice socks, though they are father down the list for me when compared to other athletic socks I have.So 4 stars for being nice socks, -1 star for how hard they are to get on and off.

WOW
Wow, right out the package you can tell these are top of the line socks. AMAZING fabric and quality. The material is so nice that I just couldn't stop touching and feeling them. The are stretchy and firm when you put them on. Reinforce toe, heel and everything else. It also has cushion spots for added protection. The socks feel oh so soft. The material just forms to the foot and provides a good grip. The socks stay put, no rolling down while walking. It's just a great pair of socks PERIOD.

Nice and tight for support
I like these socks alot. I have ankle and foot problems and these are tight like I need. They even have a L&R on socks to be sure you put them on the correct foot.
