There's a large selection of small engine repair videos online for this type of hardware. Basically this kit avoids the total rebuild of a small engine carburetor, instead giving you a new unit that bolts onto the side of the motor, along with other perishable parts that typically fail including the primer bulb, fuel lines, tank breather & filters. If your weed wacker isn't starting, or leaks, or runs very poorly this kit will help get it running again (I recommend you test for spark to make sure your engine's coil is still good). I found this kit to be compatible with an Echo GT225, or SR225, & had good results as soon as I installed it.

I fixed two weedeaters (one hadn't been working for over a year) with two of these carburetors. The hard part is getting the rubber stopper in the gas tank hole. The actual carb is an easy install. We did need to adjust one using a small screwdriver from an electronic repair kit. But now they work. Cheaper than taking to the repair guy and taking a week to get back. Easy fix.

Echo PAS 225 - giving this a precautionary 3 for right now. It was easy to install the carburetor in minutes. Primed immediately and started right up. But as I ran, it seemed to sputter some at higher RPMs. Then after about 30 minutes it started to die on me at higher RPMs then quit altogether. Could not get it restarted. I tried again today (2 days later). I tested with squirt of Carb Cleaner and fired off. After adding some more fuel as well, it started right up. However it's raining heavily, so can't work it today and see what happens. I know the Spark Plug, Air Filter and fuel filter are all good as I had tune-up kit from Echo which I had applied. The replacement fuel lines provided look like they will hold up to 10% Ethanol. But the Breather and fuel filter ends don't have a Ring Clamp like original equipment. The Spark Plug is not NGK brand. Appears to be marked WX, whoever that is. Tomorrow will be sunny and we'll see.

The original carb on the Echo PAS 225 was older (maybe 10 years or so) and the diaphragm that controls the needle valve was brittle is my guess. Hanging it on the wall would fill the filter with pre-mix. I was going to buy the stock kit for a rebuild, but it was more than this and was also made in china. The swap out took maybe 10 minutes and no adjusting. Starts second pull. Hang it on my wall for a few days no more gas in the filter. This kit also included 2 filters which brought the stock kit and single filter to 10 bucks more than this. Looks exactly the same. I also have some spare parts around the garage if I need. Filter, primer, bulbs, hoes and fuel filter as I just use the stock stuff that was still good. Maybe I could have gotten away with cleaning up the old carb and only replacing just the diaphragm, but overall I'm happy with this.

I like that the nicely boxed kit fixed the stalling problem I had with the Echo SRM-225 edger. The grommet that came with the edger also was the correct fit for the gas tank. Unfortunately, there seem to be many sellers whose kits come with a grommet that is way too big.

Used on my SRM-2620; carb is prefect replacement. The air filters are NOT for 2620 model. Fuel lines, spark plug and carb are excellent. It does not come with flange nut or adjustment nut for throttle cable.

I ordered a new carburetor for the sm 225 just because I wasn’t sure I could get the old one going. When comparing the old to the new one, the new one already had the adjustment accessible. I slapped this baby on in about 20 mins and changed out the fuel lines as well. Fired up in 2 pulls. No adjustment needed right now. Great value and comes with plenty extras!

You cant go wrong with this carb. For the price of this carb and a complete tune up kit it was half of what I paid for just the tune up kit at Home Depot. Extra purge bulbs, fuel lines .spark plug, air filters. Why rebuild when you can replace it with a brand new carb and get a boat load of added parts. The only say this could have been easier is if someone did it for ya.
