Rightline Gear Replacement Car Roof Clips for Attaching Rooftop Cargo Carriers Without A Roof Rack

Just what I was looking for. Quite pleased.

My old kayak tie down straps are now being used to help stabilize the sway of my hitch mount bike carrier. The electric bikes are a bit heavier and tend to rock a little. My straps with these trunk tie down clips have solved the problem.

I bought these to attach a car carrier we got for free, to a car without a roof rack. These clip to the trim just inside your door, then the door holds them in place. We drove 2500 miles with the carrier being held on by these clips and the original 20yr old straps. And my only issue was when it rained, a few drops ran down the straps and into the car.. nothing major.

It does not fit well on a Honda Civic 2010, both the length and the curvature of the clips are marginal for this kind of car. I had to modify the clips to "somewhat" improve the overall attachment. Both the metal and the plastic overcoat of the clips are of good quality.

I combined these with some cinch straps to keep stadium chairs on the bleachers. Works great

Bought these to replace broken plastic hooks on a car cover. They are perfect!

While it held stuff great, it overall was terrible. I used this to go across country with my kids and the first three days of driving I had to stop every 30 minutes to tighten the straps, nothing I did would keep them tight. On the third day one strap came completely undone and the the other one was within a inch of all four us having our stuff spread all over the inter state. I had to get other straps like towing ones to get it to stay put. They caused the storage device to tear is a few spots. So we were only able to use this for one trip. I would not recommend this again due to all the problems I had with it.
