Acoustic quality
I never heard of these strings until someone mentioned them in a forum. These are very nice acoustic strings. My guitar sounds better than ever.

Low tension strings for your old Martin or other ailing Git-box...
These strings sure aren't my favorites by any stretch, and the trebles are just kinds wonky so I replace them with regular steel ultra light gauge. (a .10 and a .13, I think; maybe even a .9 and a .12, depending on the guitar they go on.) They blend well with the others, and sound and hold up much better than the oddball WOUND!(I think) trebles that come with the set.

Great NEW strings
First time buying a JP string set. Installed today. These are a joy to play. Big round sound, tension is good. Makes my Martin 00-28 sound full but sweet. Will update after a month to let you know how these hold up with light-moderate use in house.

Tinnie sounding when plugged in
Acoustically I thought they sounded good. I like the feel of them. But plugged into my BOSE L1, they didn’t sound good at all. They were on my J45

Warm it up baby
As many Taylor guitar owners admit, Taylors tend to be on the bright side. You can warm that sound up a little with these Pearse silk and bronze strings. They will not last as long as Elixers or other coated strings though. I have them on a Taylor 814 Sitka and Cocobolo and also on a Furch G Cedar and Padauk. Offers a slightly warmer and pleasing contrast to my other acoustics which are a little brassier.

Immediately sweet and played-in sound
Very nice strings. I've become a John Pearse convert over the last few months. The Silk Phosphors in particular are quite an interesting set of strings. They immediately give me that tamed sound of older strings but without sounding dead and without the sticky feel of old strings. I've had them on my Gibson J45 Standard for about a month now and they still sound sweet. I originally ordered the 510L light set by mistake and found them to be too thin. The medium-light 610L is just right. A really nice tension and match for my J45.

Thanks, they’re good but ..,
Shipped quickly … but they seem to lack the same supple quality and color of the 12 strings … also there were no signs of the threads … and my 12s were a little defective I guess cuz they were splitting out threads on the big E . I would have expected to see … some silk winding on the ends of these sixes but none … hmm … the other thing the big E is just too thick on their light sets , I don’t know ….and on the 6 the big E is not very supple … otherwise done right they are great strings …I think the 12 strings are more impressive , was expecting a little for the 6 , but I dunno … I think JP strings are very good , probably the best for some guitars …but pricey …. Ps they are the right ones , i did see some threads on string end on certain ones , and I know that’s no way to judge , it’s just I was expecting just a little more , but I believe in Jp methods , but man make lighter gauges … thanks

Mellow
I'm glad JP makes a set of silk wound strings at this gauge. If you're looking for comfortable, mellow strings with some girth, these fit the bill. At the start, great tone and volume on a 0015m Martin. No jangly or tinny sound at all, very warm. On the flip side, a bit muddy on the low strings. After a week of moderate play, they dropped to a more damp sound… Not sure if they went dead or they simply broke in, because they still sound pretty good despite the change. Either way, worth checking out if you like a woody, warm tone. Good for finger style playing, flexible, and they get softer as you go.
