works perfectly; not trivial to install
2 years since installing these on two BW heat pump heaters and they still work great. Resolved sulpher smell pretty quickly. We have fairly high iron well and even with an iron remover and softener, I had to clean/bleach the system every ~3 months, I had installed a whole house filter before that and it would work for a bit longer until I'd have to replace it and bleach again. No more. But if I try to make the softener regen interval more than every 3 days, we start to get a bit of smell after a few weeks. We use what seems like A LOT of salt.... Before you try to put it on your tank, read the comments/internet regarding installation, including the size sockets you'll need to remove and replace.

Excellent decision to have installed
It cleared up the problem we had with our new water heater's factory installed rod. There's no smell in the hot water and the brown stains in the tub are gone.

Fixed my Smelly Water
Got rid of my smelly hot water and was fairly easy to install. The smell was sulphur adjacent and we thought it was from the water, I replaced our anode rod with one of thes when I installed a new heater and the smell was gone almost immediately.

Pretty good
Works well. I was experiencing some rotten egg smell for the longest in my home . Once I changed the anod rod, this got rid of the smell almost immediately. I dint give it 5 stars because during hurricane season it may not be most convenient if power goes out since it needs electricity to work and I have not used it long enough to say it does last a few years.

Excellent quality product
Super easy install. Everything went smoothly. Took a few minutes. Now we wait. According to everything I managed to read about this product I have no fears that it will perform perfectly. My water heater was 6 yrs old and replacing the anode was almost the same price as this electric one. Company was responsive with my one question. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Hot water sulfur smell BGONE
I always use these anodes for customers that have a sulfur smell on the hot water side only, they have worked ,n resolved that issue every time .You just need a good electric impact to remove the existing anode , which i have only failed one time, out of near 40 .Sometimes ,the existing just don’t want to come out. What’s nice about this anode, is you can remove it to use on your next heater if you have to replace . It’s best to install on a new heater to get longevity ,of that tank.

ATTACHMENT DOES NOT FIT BRADFORD WHITE
I bought two of these sets as the first fitting adapter did not appear to fit my Bradford White water heater but both had the same exact issue. Since both did not fit properly, it's not a QA issue - this simply was not designed properly in the first place. If you look at the picture, on the right is the adapter fitting included. On the left is the brand new magnesium rod from my new Bradford Unit. Notice that the taper on included fitting does not match. It is not tapered enough but it is also at a weird, non-symmetrical angle. When you try tighten it down by hand, then start to put a wrench on it, it immediately starts to go in at an angle. Despite what the manual says, do not use tape and do not force it down or it will ruin your threads inside your water heater and cause irreparable damage. What was supposed to be a 2 hour job replacing my old water heater became an all night job as I had to mill down the threads and create my own taper and proper angle. The end of the fitting is also very thin walls so there was very little margin for error milling it down. I used some pipe dope to ensure a good fit.At the end of the day, everything seems to work fine. No leaks and no weird smells (could also be cause I paid for a top of the line water heater). However, the amount of effort I had to put in to make this work was total not worth it and I should have returned it in the first place. If you are not handy and don't know how to fix the defective fitting they give you, do not attempt this as it will destroy your water heater and leak. For the astronomical price of this product it should work out the box.

Works as advertised
Great product; sulphur smell in the hot water was gone within 24 hours. Installation was a bit difficult, mostly because of how tightly the old rod was installed. Bring a pipe wrench - a crescent wrench wasn't enough.
