Great Hop Up
They were an immediate improvement over the stockers. No more caps popping off. You will need to dial them in to your setup. I swapped the rear springs out and ran heavier oil BUT I was putting them on a truck that was much heavier than stock.Once I got them setup, I was really impressed. Fooling around with a high speed rig, I needed very little steering on a forward weight bias. Even though I wasn't using much travel like you would jumping or bashing, doing 80-90mph runs requires handling, dampening and firm traction.Once I quit fooling with the high speed stuff, they went on a Rustler basher that is usually loaned to some neighborhood kid and smacked off every rock, curb and jump in the area. They have held up great. There are probably better shocks on the market but not at this price point with this level of durability. If you are trying to decide on which hop ups to do, do these first. These will give your truck the handling required as you add more power.

Big Bore Shox, necessary upgrade
I've installed these Shocks on my Stampede 4X4 VXL and they work great. With the Stock shocks I was constantly busting the caps off during bashing or big jumps. Now that I have these it's no longer an issue. The shock oil that is supplied is a little weak, so additionally you may want to go with a 40 weight or 50. Do make sure to add the dampeners that come with them. Last, the only thing that may be needed after these are new shock towers, mine have stripped out from having to reinstall after popping off the stock ones so many times. Traxxas builds quality products and their products are always worth the money.

great price!
these little shocks are killer. i bought a slash 4x4 off craigs list and the shocks were a little beatup so my buddy told me that these were the ones that should have been on the truck to begin with seeing it was the slash ultimate. took a few minutes to fill with oil and get them installed but the difference was very noticable. great shock! it seems like no matter what hobby im into , amazon is always saving me some coin. i cruised over to the local hobby shop with my buddy and was looking around while he was getting some parts for his buggy and saw these shocks for 65$ ensuring me that amazon had the best price. Oh yah ,i put one big spacer in and they are perfect for my set up.

Highly recommended replacement over stock.
I'm surprised at the improvement of these over the stock Rustler Shocks. I thought I broke a shock so I bought these (highly recommended), but it turned out I just lost one of the pop-off seats. Decided to throw these on my Rustler VXL anyways. Filled with oil (had a bit to spare afterwards - so the bottle is enough), closed them up after removing the air, and dropped the stock springs on. These come with progressive rate, which will be too soft on initial damper for the Rusty. Bolted right up nicely. Metal caps are a nice upgrade, and will definitely be a better seal and be stronger mounting point than the plastic stockers.First thing I noticed, was how much better the rebound is on the rear shocks. Mine used to pop back up about half way when stock, and now, they pop back up nicely. Damping is consistent and predictable, and with the oil it came with, is a great match for both speed runs and some moderate bashing. At wide-open throttle, I'm finding the more consistant damping is keeping me flatter during steering, and minimizing rollovers. I'm also bottoming out less on bigger jumps. When my nephew breaks something to justify new shocks, these will be the ones I pick up. At his current breakage rate, I think that's likely to be pretty soon!

No nonsense, no bling, bombproof shocks
These pretty much live up to everything I've read about them previously: fill them up, mount them on your slash, land hard and stop worrying about shocks.I encountered several common issues with stock Slash shocks (well documented on the interweb), so I upgraded to these, which really appear identical to stock at-a-glance, almost disappointingly so, but are very subtly beefier, and have full metal damper bodies and caps (stocks are plastic). Definitely not show-car cool, but if you are buying RC shock absorbers for looks, why are you reading this review? They are definitely smoother than my dirty, bent-up stock shocks, but probably aren't noticably different in response than a new set might be. They are however, definitely tougher. I've yet to see any signs of fatigue, damage, or wear from any of the abuse I've subjected them to. I got a set of RPM shock guards (which mount right up) to protect the investment I'd made in them, and I am definitely pleased with the results. This kit is a bit pricey for RC parts, but money well spent. (also slightly cheaper than most aftermarket shocks).

For money great product
Best shocks you could buy probably hands down and simple to rebuild assuming you havent completely trashed your old pair

outstanding performance and durability
These shocks are amazing! They come with 30wt silicone oil that fills up all the shocks and still has 1/3 left. I put them on my rustler vxl and they greatly improve performance. Handling on corners and jump/bump absorbtion is outstanding. The progressive rate springs work well, you just have to add a few preload spacers to the back if you want to go jump high. All aluminum parts. Never broken anything. I took a pretty bad cartwheel that didn't even phase the shocks, yet a similar crash destroyed my stock Ultra shocks. Highly recommended these. Sooo worth the money!

A nice uprade. A bit pricey though
Good product they feel very smooth to compress. They feel softer than stock but with much better damping. Basicly you can run em low without too much chassis slap on jumps. Only real issue i had was getting the spigot on the bottle of shock oil. Only complaint is they seem a bit too expensive for what you get at least to me. I mean get some metal shock caps and some thicker oil on the stock shocks and your nearly there. Ill update if they survive wrecks better. Ive had to bend the stock shock shaft straight again a few times
