Going on my 2nd pair!
I’ve been wearing Free Soldier boots for a while now, and they’ve been one of the best values I’ve found in work footwear. Sizing is spot on — I order my regular shoe size (10.5) and they fit exactly as expected. The zipper quality is solid, and I really like the easy quick zip-up design. It saves time and makes them super convenient to get on and off.I do foundation work and other heavy jobs that are very hard on boots, and these usually last me 6–8 months. That’s about double the lifespan I’ve gotten from other brands in the same price range. Overall shoe quality is good, and they hold up better than I expected for the cost. The only small downside I noticed was that the heel on my second pair felt stiffer than the first. That said, it broke in quickly and wasn’t a long-term issue. On top of the durability and comfort, I also like the combat-style look of these boots. They have a rugged, tactical style that works great on the job but also looks sharp off the clock.Overall, these boots are a great mix of comfort, durability, convenience, and value. I’ll keep buying them as long as Free Soldier keeps making them like thisPICTURES INCLUDE: my new pair vs my old pair 8 months of hard use finally made the choice to get a new pair because dirt was starting to get under the sole but in comparison to other boots I’ve gotten they held up so much longer and better)

Best boots ever! Burning Man approved.
Got these boots kind of last minute with plan to wear at Burning Man. I was interested in the zipper option for quick in and out as we don't do shoes in our dwelling. I had a different pair of boots that I just couldn't get broken in after months so about 2 weeks before leaving for the burn I ordered these Free Soldier boots. They were immediately comfortable out of the box, coming with a removable insert I left in, and I had opportunity to wear them on several ~2 mile dog walks with no issues with rubbing. At the burn, I wore these boots for 10+ hrs/day for the 10 days we were there and never had a single foot issue - no rubbing, no blisters, no foot cramps, no hot spots. We arrived early to help our camp with build and these felt protective while working with heavy equipment. They are also pretty lightweight, and the zipper maintained excellent functionality throughout, never getting bogged down by playa dust. We walked thousands of steps and biked tons of miles, and these boots kept my feet protected and comfortable. I'm a women's size 9, I ordered these in men's size 7.5 and they fit great with merino wool socks. I personally also think they're stylish enough and you can't beat the price point. Can't wait for BM2026 to give these another go. Highly recommend!

Good General Work Boots
So... while I may have been looking for a Steel Toe or Hardened Plastic Toe, this pair of boots does pretty well on keeping me comfortable during hard work days. They STAY on my feet. They've a decent durability, and the leather keeps things OUT. And I put these boots through HELL and back in my workplaces, excepting that I NEVER let anything heavy LAND on my toes. Again, these are SOFT TOED BOOTS, not Steel Toed or otherwise.Heel support is middling, as a person with bad knees, I've had to stand for hours at a time, and these don't have "superb" heel support, but they do give a fair amount... although they also don't give very much in the way of arch support. As for Ease of Use... well, you'll have to be careful, because getting into and out of them is a mixed bag, as once you've tightened the strings and knotted them, they are NOT coming off. After a long day, or lengthy work between breaks, when you want them OFF, they are a PAIN to get off, for some reason this is always my left foot that gets stuck at the ankle trying to pull it off...If you're in a similar field of work like I am, working either construction or some such, these may not be the best, and they make your feet sweat like hell, no matter the sock type, and i've got several different sock types, of which you'll want LONG socks, at least 3/4ths up your shin length, before putting these boots on, to keep from chaffing your shins, heels, and all. When moving around, these boots do give you some decent support, and protect your feet nicely, and they don't feel bad after walking around for hours. Experience: Spent a few shifts walking around for five hours at a time, and didn't get any foot pain from them.If these last another two years or more, I'll be pleased with the money I spent on these boots.TIP: if you're in the South, or an area that gets a LOT of sunlight and heat? GET THE BEIGE OR LIGHTER COLORS. NEVER wear black on those hot summer days!

Affordable and durable
I bought these boots for my husband to work in. He wanted something light and comfortable to wear for a 10 hour shift and these have been phenomenal. We like that these are offered in a smaller size as a lot of men’s boots aren’t sold in a size 7. Affordable and durable are great qualities they have!
