I liked the fact that it worked for my old Canon camcorder and came with a car charger. The price and delivery were good too.

Had no idea what "fully decoded" meant - glad I read the reviews. It does display on the camera the remaining battery charge. Worked out of the box. Received my camera and this battery the same day. Cannon battery had to be charged so I could not play with my new toy, but Big Mike's did have a charge, The car charger ensures I will be able to charge when away from the hotel if required as this seems to have more than enough power for a full day of recording events and trips. I hope it keeps working over time (1-4 yrs). If someone with long time experience with this battery can commet on the longevity that would be great.

Works. Takes long to charge. Battery drains in real time. If you have camera on for 10 mins (standby) it drains 10 mins off battery! Battery at full states a little over an hour of power.

I began by ordering the wrong battery and charger from this seller -- but it arrived so swiftly, well-packaged, and complete that I had to try again.Worth the effort. This battery fits my camcorder perfectly, announces its charge level (because it is decoded) and provides hours of shooting time on a single charge. There's a tiny bit of slack in the battery's fit into the camera (wobbles a bit) but this does not negatively affect the performance in any way.One word of warning -- the profile is much larger than that of the OEM battery. But that's to be expected given the exceptional charge this battery holds and the time it gives you to shoot video.

Perfect replacement!

Once the battery had been used several times I consistently get just under two hours of continuous recording on my Canon HF-R300. The minutes-remaining display is overstated at the start of such a session (says 180 minutes) but as this is a decoded battery (capacity known) as the camera measures discharge there is a big drop-off in displayed remaining time after about 30 minutes (says 90 minutes or so) then it is spot accurate to the end, maybe an extra 3-4 minutes after it just shows a yellow battery without numbers.My Canon batteries charge just fine in the charger. Note that the insert which holds the batteries in the charger on these seemingly universal chargers just slides in (same basic design for three different battery types I have), so if your battery is tight, when you remove it it might pull the insert with it just a little bit and you the next one will show RED forever, because it is not making contact. Just be aware to always check that the insert is firmly attached or tape it down.The first BP-727 I ordered had a bent charging pin but it still worked. It failed after about 5 months use, so I contacted the Amazon reseller (Big Mike's) and they exchanged it without a problem.
