Launch Tech 301050099 CReader VI Plus Diagnostic Tool

This little beast is able to pull codes and run diagnostics very well. The reason i really like this model is that its bigger, im 6'0 300lb gorilla that tends to break the meek and feeble tools and tech. It fits well in my big hands all the buttons are easy to push and it gives me all the info i need. I wish it ran transmission codes, but thats a different more expensive ballgame. This is for both the DIY fixer and a great easy shop scanner.

I did my first scan and got some error codes for a faulty crankshaft position sensor, apparently a common problem in Nissan Altimas. I ordered the replacement part on like through Amazon, received within a couple of days, and put the part in (killing most of a day since I'm very much an amateur mechanic). I then rescanned, cleared the codes and rescanned again. So far so good. i figure i saved easily $300+ from what a local mechanic would charge (although my arm got pretty beat up in the process), so the unit already paid for itself many times over.

I have been VERY happy with this little tool. It has just enough info available to get me into trouble. But, I can tighten a gas cap and clear codes with the best of them. My favorite code. It's harder to find the OBDII connector then it is to use this thing.

This scan tool has worked great for me! I have had it for a couple of years and it hasn't failed me. It has all of the features I was looking for no it is simple to use. It is also high quality for the price. It still works great and I have had absolutely no problems with it. I've used it multiple times and on many different cars and it has helped me solve a lot of automotive problems for myself and others.

I bought this because in the picture the lead coming off the scanner was only about 6 inches. I recieved the scanner and the lead was actually about 4 feet long so i really didnt need the extension. I guess if i want to be under the hood the cord is long enough to reach with the scanner.

I'm not a mechanic, but this unit helps me to identify problems before I take my car to a mechanic. Gives me tremendous peace of mind when I do have to take my car into a garage for service. It helps keep everyone honest :)
