The Kenwood Excelon is all that they say it is when I first installed it. I thought it was all hype, but didn’t sound very good. Would you have to go in and play with everything to find what you want this thing sounds amazing and for those who say the Bluetooth don’t work you’re right on the Bluetooth setting. It does not work move to auxiliary where it reads iPod and it will work within 10 seconds every time you get in your car. I had a brand new Alpine head unit that worked flawlessly, but could not get the sound. I was looking for this. Kenwood goes far and beyond what I was looking for.

I’ve always been a fan of Kenwood’s decks. This is the first Exelon series Kenwood. I have purchased, and it has all the features and some I wasn’t expecting. I won’t list all the features because you can read the ad but I’m not a big touchscreen fan and I just like traditional head units like this one but this one packs a lot of great features that you don’t normally find in a unit like this, I’m running a blow punk, four channel amp, and 28 inch subs through the stack. It comes with three sets of 5 V RCA outs all the crossover adjustments and everything you would need to have a nice clean system installed it in my 03 jeep TJ if you’re looking for a traditional deck like this by this one well worth it the only drawback it does not come with the remote, but as I have found in my past experience that they just end up, sitting in my center consul anyway Bluetooth works great pairs easily nice to have a USB an auxiliary

Put this into my 2002 dodge Dakota, it was easy to install, and fits very well. So far, it’s working great, and made my music sound way better than the factory head unit.

Works and souds good

Picked this one for the 5V. Honestly not in love with the menu interface but it's a decent headunit. Audiophile level features but they're buried in there and not easy to jump to like Pioneer or Alpine. For example, SW-level and SW-on/off are like 10 scrolls away from each other. Why?

This is in my 2005 Ford Ranger with four Infinity Reference 6x8 speakers. The speakers lacked a lot of bass over stock but once paired with this head unit, clarity and sound on all levels came back in spades. Great control of audio but interface is not intuitive and definitely not something you can easily feel and navigate while driving. It takes 3 clicks/1 rotation to get to bass settings and 5 clicks/1 rotation for treble. This wouldn't be so bad if the knob had more resistance. It is very easy to hit the slightest gust of wind and rotate into different settings. Will pair this with a simpleall-in-one npowered sub in the future and take advantage of all the available control this unit offers. My neice loves the colors and I like the dim setting for night driving.

I am amazed with the difference this unit brought to my system. You have control of so many sound leveling , it's not even funny! The quality of the sound is so good that I was actually listening to sounds I only experienced with my headphones. Happy with the investment. Go for it!

Amazing head unit. My only complaint is it doesn’t have a dimmer wire that automatically dims the lights when you turn your headlights on. I believe that’s just a Kenwood thing and all the other features make up for it. Puts out amazing sound, tested with oscilloscope - line outputs clipped at volume 27 but preouts did not clip at all with volume maxed out and was reading over 5 volts on the preouts. Highly recommended if you’re looking for excellent sound and features on a budget.

Installed in a 92 F250, easy to do, fits very nice. Bought this a while ago for my project truck and I finally have been able to get everything hooked up. The bluetooth was easy to get connected, the set up menu is fairly easy to navigate and once done, the sound quality is spectacular when paires with the Kenwood speakers. Highly recommend this unit.
