Worth every penny
I had to repurchase this product because my travel bag with my old one was stolen but I owned this mirror for over 7 years and it still charged and worked great! I adore this thing for travel and the mirror quality is fantastic. It's sleek and is perfectly compact for travel and the brightness is also perfection. The mirror is stable but my old one loosened up a bit over time but can't complain much because it was used over and over. I also have dropped it on the floor before and it did not break so these are very well made. Not cheap for a small mirror but I cannot stop raving how amazing these are for putting on false lashes and makeup. I crack up because I had a friend look in this mirror and say "I had no idea I had a uni brow" lol this mirror shows it all.

Charge lasts a long wireless time, lights when you lean in, and folds flat for travel. Excellent.
At first I thought it was too small. However, I have ended up LOVING the fact that you can charge it and then use it cordlessly almost forever (LED). And it folds flat and goes back into a carry case for travel. I have never traveled with a mirror before--but at my age I really need a magnifier to check my make-up (and stray hairs!). Also, when you are putting on makeup, it's so great that when you lean to look into it the light comes on automatically--no need to try to use a messy finger to turn it on. The light is a little bright and I kind of wish it magnified a little more--but I have had a long series of lighted magnifying makeup mirrors and this is one of the best.

Great mirror, amazing customer service
I purchased this mirror five years ago. It’s been great, does exactly what it’s supposed to do and packs neatly in the well designed travel case. Recently I noticed that the mirror had started to come away from the base. On inspection I realised it was due to the battery underneath swelling up and pushing the mirror off. I was a bit concerned about potential safety issues so contacted Simple Human to ask what I should do. I was hoping I could get it repaired. Simple Human customer service contacted me straight away and after confirming some purchase and product info offered me a brand new replacement. It arrived within two days. I don’t think I’ve ever come across such swift fair customer service.

A great product, particularly for someone who travels
I bought this mirror for my wife. We travel frequently, so the mini format had special appeal since she can tote it along for cruises, holidays, conferences, etc.I haven't presented it to her yet (our anniversary is April 14th), so I have been testing it out on myself: charging, using, cleaning, folding, etc. The mirror has a very elegant design and a sturdy build. Thus it is that it is a bit on the heavy side for travel, but isn't fragile and is designed for being packed.Light brightness and color quality are great features, so you know what you will look like in daylight. With 10x magnification, you can focus on lipstick application (or whatever), but not your entire face at once. Use another mirror for that.As for the company, simplehuman, they have some great products and some real junk (such as their bathroom furniture offerings). This mirror could be one of those great products--will see what the wife thinks, once she starts using it.I own several of their products, and have been very satisfied with them. I have also tested and been satisfied with their support of their 5-year warranty. I had an issue with a rusting bathroom caddy, contacted them and they replaced the parts without hesitation. Didn't even ask for proof of purchase; not to say that you shouldn't have it available.

Buggy and disappointing.
DO NOT BUY THIS MIRROR. I really wanted to like this product. However, it is a VERY expensive mirror that doesn't do the job. This is the second attempt at a good product. The first one arrived without a box, and charger. I thought I had to supply my own, but soon figured it out when the light would not stay lit. I promptly returned it and re-ordered blaming the Amazon fulfillment center. I received the second one and it was nicely packaged. I fully charged it but the light would not stay lit. As long as you have a free hand to constantly engage the light over and over again, it works. I read on-line that others had this problem and you simply had to "re-boot". However, this fix is intermittent and the problem is persistent. For the cost of this mirror, this is simply unacceptable. I no longer have the box, but will see what I can do for a full refund but the option does not seem to be available after 6 weeks. So upsetting.UPDATE: After going back and forth with Simplehuman, I returned the product to them and they responded: Our technicians took a look at your mirror and found that it's functioning properly. You had described that the mirror’s light was not staying on. Now I had told them that despite me being within 2-3" of the product the light would go out and I had already done everything they suggested below. Seriously folks. Save your money. Get a battery operated mirror. THIS THING IS JUNK and the Customer Service follows a script and does not actually do anything to rectify the situation. Not only will I recommend that people move on, but seriously consider ANYTHING from this manufacturer. We’d recommend checking the following:Ensure that the mirror is turned on. To do this, simply press the button next to the charging port – if the indicator light turns green it’s on, if it turns red it has been turned off.The mirror may need to be charged. To charge the mirror, insert the usb cord into the charging port. You should see a flashing green light which indicates the mirror is charging. When the light has turned solid green, the mirror is fully charged. This can take 4-7 hours.Have you reset the unit? To reset the mirror simply press the power button on the bottom of the unit to turn it off. Leave it off for 20 seconds and then press the power button again to turn the unit on.Sometimes charging cables don’t work properly. If you have another USB cord (android, kindle, etc.) try testing it to charge the mirror. Please note that the mirror will automatically shut off after approximately 5 seconds when not within the sensor range (7-12")
