Excellent Customer Service ! Awesome Chipper for home brush maintenance. - 2 year update (blade)
This chipper eats wood! Very capable 7hp motor starts on the 1st pull. While very portable, it's a workhorse. It takes about 20 min to assemble, very well packaged with excellent instructions plus a spark plug tool.Recently my motor had an issue but Fabian from GreatCircle came through and got me taken care of, so their warranty service is first rate.Keep the blades sharp, fuel stabilizer in the gas tank, air filter clean, oil full & changed, spark plug gapped and you'll be chipping like a pro for years to come. Was really happy to experience these safety features:** if running and it's tilted, motor will auto-shut off** if there's no oil in it, motor will auto-shut offHighly recommended for keeping brush managed.*** 21 Jun 2023 update ***I've now had this chipper/shredder for a couple of years and thought this update might be helpful for those considering it or already own one.First, if you're planning on buying on or already have one, maintaining it is essential. It doesn't take much but here's the basics:* Check the oil every time before use - change the oil at least once a year, weather it's run a little or not* Always use fuel stabilizer in the gas tank since it may sit for a while before next use* After prolonged use, sharpen the blades and clean all the crap out* Keep the air filter clean* Read the manual and follow their instructionsI'm always impressed that this machine typically starts on the very 1st pull, even after sitting in the garage for 8-9 months. Then it eats through 2-3" rusty fig branches like it's nothing. This is only because the blades are kept sharp, the machine clean, oil & gas fresh.Take care of it and you'll be happy to see yours take care of you.**EZ steps to change or sharpen blades (update):1) remove small metal face plate - 4ea 10mm nuts2) remove narrow side plate under shredder chute - 6ea 13mm bolts/nuts (1 bolt is longer than the others)3) use 3/16 allen head bolt from front where face plate was removed and 13mm wrench from rear to remove 6ea bolts holding blades in place. Keep flat washer, lock washer and nut from getting lost as they will be needed to reinstall in same order.4) After removing all blade bolts, either put new blades on or sharpen old blades5) Reinstall blades and both plates in reverse order of the above.****** The #1 thing that affect this Chipper Shredder's performance is sharp blades, so it's a good idea to keep a spare set on hand or have a way to sharpen the ones you have before starting a big job. If you have to push the wood into the chipper, then the blades are dull and things go downhill from there.***** who should NOT buy this Chipper ****If you don't already have various socket sets and know how to use them, this chipper is probably not for you as it requires routine maintenance. If it's not maintained (oil is not changed, blades are not sharpened or replaced, fuel is not stabilized, all bolts/nuts aren't retightened) then it's going to have issues like some have posted with "catastrophic failure" or "doesn't start" or "doesn't cut wood".If you have these tools and use them, this thing works like a champ.

Excellent for softwoods, may not the best choice for oaks & needs sharp blades to work well
This review is after running through 3 tanks of gas and about 8 hours of operation. I like this much better than the harbor freight version which I planned to buy but was not available locally. As others have stated, unit is well packaged, easy to put together and mine also started on the very first pull. It does an amazing job with 2-inch diameter or less softwood branches, pulling the branch through quickly and producing excellent mulch. Better than neighbor’s HF chipper overall and this one is much easier to feed and collect mulch. I very much appreciate the large branch chute as you can pitch smaller branches in the hopper from a few feet away. The elevated discharge chute makes collecting the mulch super easy and convenient as a 30-gallon trash can will fit under. Logs bigger than 2-inch will bog it down and unless the piece is very short, will stall the motor. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is from trying to chip oak. This was a pain as it did not pull the oak branches in as it did with softwood trees and you had to push each piece through. I thought something was wrong with it and or a problem with dull or broken blades, but that was not the case. I do not know if other chippers have problems with oaks but suspect they may as well. If you want to chip oaks this is not the chipper for you. Otherwise this is an excellent value assuming it lasts.1/2/2023UPDATE: This machine needs very sharp blades with excellent cutting edge to work well. A week or so after posting the comments above I tried to use the chipper again on softwood brush and found that it no longer pulled branches through. Long story short I replaced the blades and it worked like new and even pulled the oak branches through so my oak experience may have been more associated with dull blades than with oak, although I suspect the oak quickly dulled the blades. Another reviewer mentioned this as well as the time consuming process of dissembling the machine to install new blades. The best and by far the easiest way to remove the blades is to disassemble the chipper end of the machine and remove Chipper/flywheel. All 13mm bolts IIRC. After loosening the flywheel bolt several turns give a few light taps on flywheel bolt head while holding the flywheel and gently pulling forward. The flywheel will come off easily from tapered/keyed shaft. You can have easy access to the blades.
