If you own a Snow Peak GigaPower, it's worth it to get this windshield.This doesn't really increase the efficiency of the GigaPower in idle or light breezes. however, in windier situations, it does help prevent the stove from blowing out, and while any breeze is an enemy of heat transfer, with this windshield, some of the heat will transfer to a pot or cup, making this unit a real lifesaver in windy conditions.I ran several tests with this windshield and without, and in a no wind situation, it made zero difference in boiling 16 oz of water. Both with and without the windscreen, water took about 5 minutes and change to boil. But in windier conditions, the GigaPower without the wind screen was unsuccessful in boiling water, but with the windshield, I was able to get water boiling in about 9 minutes and change.So, if you won a GigaPower, get this windshield. It might just be the difference between a hot cup of tea....or not.

This piece is solid. I thought it was damaged during transpiration because it was delivered without protective box. Overall this piece is quite thick, robust , small size. Finishing is good too. I waited for almost 3 weeks for this piece to arrived in Malaysia. Well worth the wait because this is so hard to find here in cheaper price.

This windscreen works well to stop or deflect some wind, and it also reflects some heat back towards the bottom of a cook pot. Although I didn't time it, my 8 oz test quantity of water seemed to boil a little bit quicker than without the screen when ambient air was at 60 F and with maybe a ten mph breeze. Took a few weeks to ship, but was delivered when originally promised. It's a little bit heavier than I expected it to be (2.6 oz), but that makes it very sturdy - it doesn't warp when heated. It discolors some after it's been heated, but the directions tell you that will happen. The windscreen isn't as easily stored inside a Snow Peak 900 cook set as I had hoped it would be since the diameter of the wind screen flange is about the same as the diameter of the cook pot's flange. The result is that the frying pan/lid doesn't sit right on the pot during storage when the wind screen is positioned between the pot and the lid. For storage and packing, then, I found a workable solution to be nesting the wind screen under the cook pot and using a strap and/or stuff sack to hold it all together.

The media could not be loaded. This product is a good windshield, but is a little unsteady. It cools down quickly and as easy to store along some of my set up.

This seemingly insignificant little piece of metal makes a big difference. It keeps the flame burning steady in the wind, and reflects the heat back towards the pot where it will do the most good. Even if there is no wind, the reflected heat improves the efficiency of your stove. And the ingenious design means it takes up no space in your pack. Not to mention the light weight. It fits in the concave space below a 220 gram fuel canister. It fits perfectly in the bottom of a Walmart grease pot. I place the canister atop it, and I can still fit my Gigapower stove, in its case, along with 2 Bic lighters and various other small items, and the lid still fits. This is a must-have accessory for anyone who uses a Gigapower stove. I highly recommend it.

This windscreen makes the Snow Peak GigaPower stove 100x better (okay, so maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it does make the GigaPower more or less the perfect stove). It blocks most wind, and cuts boil times by quite a bit.If you use a 12cm IMUSA mug, it nests perfectly. Yes, this could be made a little lighter by using Titanium, but it's only 2 oz, so not going to break your back or anything by carrying it.

While the product title says "Snow Peak GigaPower Stove," the Amazon advertisement does not list which type of Snow Peak products this can be used for.Upon receiving the product, I read the user's manual, which says "INSTRUCTIONS: The [GP-008] Windscreen is applicable for GS-100 GigaPower Stove and GS-100A GigaPower Stove (auto ignition)." It will not work on the Snow Peak GigaPower LiteMax Stove.The LiteMax stove uses 3 prongs (at 120 degrees to each prong) to hold a pot.This windscreen has 4 slits (at 90 degrees to each slit), where 4 prongs for a regular GigaPower stove can slide through.In other words, the 3 prongs of the stove for a LiteMax will not fit through the 4 slits in the windscreen. Have to return it.Should be noted in the advertisement that this is only good for GS-100 and GS-100A Snow Peak Stoves.I can not give in an "incomplete stars" rating, due to the inability to use it for its intended purpose So, I chose something in the middle, which is 3.
