Good brakes!
2nd set purchases for my sons e-bike, works great and stopping power is way better that 2 piston hydraulic brakes! You tubers were praising these brakes for their e-bikes, that’s what made me buy and try! No complaints so far!

TERRIBLE
This product is terrible when it came the bleed screw was sheared off and it has several scratches. It looks like it came used. The bad also came slightly damage and when I tried using it it didn’t even work and I can’t even get it off my bike any more because I have a sure on and the space the get it out is really small. BUYERS STAY AWAY FROM THIS AT ALL COST

Cheap entrypoint to the glory of Magura
When the front MT6 on my XC bike went out, I thought I'd try out a 4-piston and loved the Magura modulation but didn't have the budget for something higher-end like the MT7. I basically made the original MT Trail setup. As other reviewers have pointed out, the lever body is plastic. Very fancy plastic, if the marketing is to be believed, but plastic. I don't feel unsafe with them, but I wouldn't be blown away if one broke off the bars in a nasty crash. Pay more if you need something nicer.BUT! They're an affordable entrypoint to really powerful brakes with great modulation and easy servicing (learn the vacuum syringe technique). If I were doing a budget trail build, it would definitely come with a pair of these.

Great brake upgrade!
I bought these Magura brakes for my e-bike, and they work great! I love how they're super light and have bleed ports on both sides of the lever module, so it wouldn't matter if you put it on the right or the left side of your handlebars. I also find it interesting that there's something directly on the lever you can screw down, which can change how much you have to pull the lever in order for the calipers to engage and bite your rotors, which doesn't do too much in my opinion. The thing I didn't like was how long the cables were, but it came with accessories to easily shorten the length of them, which could roughly only take you less than 5 minutes. I've already had 2 sets of these brakes on my bike for over 10 months and never had to bleed my left brake, besides my right one, which I had to bleed. Another thing I dislike is that when you want to replace the brake pads, you specifically have to buy Maruga MT5 brake pads in order for them to fit. I've experienced a couple of different brands of pads, such as Maruga MT5 9.p pads. They don't last very long in my opinion but have great biting power. I recommend trying out different brands for pads, such as hardheaded ram. Their sintered pads are the ones I'm running right now and are one of the stronger and longer-lasting pads you can get from them because the material they use is much different than the Maruga 9.p's. Overall, I really like these brakes and love how cool they look on my bike.

Sweet. Really sweet !!!
Blessed be the true teachers. They save us many blunders.I put some MT 5's on the front. These were for the Rear, routed internally. All was well - plugged top end, w/ cylinder/ lever at highest point and pulled new hose through bottom, piggybacking old line being removed. Standard game.Unplug, trim excess, install compression nut, olive and insert and lost near zero inserting into the upper end into the master. Then I notice the banjo's facing the wrong direction.Okay, raise bike where caliper's highest (do not do this) and loosened the banjo's bolt, rotating the fitting 90degrees. While the fitting is now pointed perfectly (no matter what you think, do not do this) before I could shut it, a good deal of fluid simply gushed out onto my rag.It wouldn't bleed out by any 'easy methods' either. Finally I found an old vid by a guy that was as a rep for Magura - for MT 6's or some other ancient single pot stuff. I did what he said and it produced better feel than my front MT 5 does.Unlike the MT 6's, the MT 5's and 7's DO have a threaded port and typical brake kits have that fitting.I also found w/ our modern MT's there's no need to remove the pads, but the caliper needs to be hanging loose, off the frame.I also 'tapped' on and moved the upper end around a bit. That produced some bubbles, so it's confirmed as part of me method.Remounted calipers while clamping on a blade spacer and burned these babies in.Impressed. Highly recommended performance. No issues.

comes in the box like the picture showes
It’s light weight. It does feels cheap right off the bat to me, but it is a comfy brake setupI thought it was used when I pulled it out of the box because of how they packaged before shipping.Honestly wish I just went with the shimano saints’s. This is for my surron rear brake. Will keep posted after I put some wear on it.

Received item used
I received this item used. The outside of the box had holes and appeared beat up. The inside of the box had oil stains and smudges. The pistons were rusted on the inside. The yellow spacers were not on the pistons. The product was obviously used, returned, and sent to me.
