Better than expected...
Great way to start July 4th...it arrived today. All the way from Missouri to the Philippines in a few days. At least that's what UPS showed. It is definitely as advertised. It has everything it says in the advertising. Apparently I got mine from ECO TECH, LLC. I did want a backlit keyboard, but it was not advertised so it's not on there. A backlit keyboard would be about another $40. Easy enough to install. The Thunderbird port is why I opted for this unit and the fact that it can be upgraded. I check the speed and got about 1400MB/s. Fast enough for Thunderbolt 3 port, but after I install a TB M.2 NVMe I'll see if that improves. For now I'm fine with what it can do. I wouldn't suggest any serious gaming on here, but i got this for work. I use a lot of MS Access and Excel, not to mention Word and Power Point. It handles those very quickly so it's exactly what I was looking for. I got this for about $260, but the total was about $370 because I had to have it shipped to the Philippines. Even with that price I'm happy. I saw a Thinkpad here for $300 plus and it's nowhere near the specs of this machine. Additionally the Thunderbolt does allow faster charging though I had to try three different USB-C charges before one of them worked. In the end, this thing looks brand new. It feels brand new. But those Youtubers were right, it will show your greasy fingers on it. The camera on here seems to be better than the one on my M1 Macbook Air. The screen is perfect for productivity. Not sure I'll be doing any video editing on here, but I did find that the audio jack is much louder than any of my Macbook's (Air, Pro), my Huawei and my Asus. I recorded audio internally using Audacity and it reproduced the sound much louder without any clipping or distortion. I might have to see if I will prefer this as my audio studio from here on out. The fingerprint scanner works great though it's not as smooth as my Huawei or my Mac Air. My Macbook Pro doesn't have one, but my Asus fingerprint scanner is not as good as the one on here. The trackpad is accurate, smooth and comfortable. The keyboard....well...it crushes any of my Macbooks....and I've had three. They're right when they say Thinkpads have the best keyboards. This thing didn't have a scratch on it. As far as I can tell without opening it, it looks like it's never been out of the box. I'd easily recommend this laptop and the seller. Very happy with this purchase. Adding on the experience... It's been a few days now and I can't seem to get the battery indicator light to show if it's charging or not. It never lights up, but it does show charging on Windows 10 Pro with the standard or Thunderbolt charging ports. No matter, everything else makes up for that minor hiccup. I'm finding I'm using this more than my Macbook M1 Air. Probably because I've been working on MS Access again. Very stable machine. Update 3-27-23 Well...I sold my T-470. Not because it was bad, but I finally got to experience a solid ThinkPad. It was so good that I bought a ThinkPad with this designation (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz). Yep...I bought an even faster and better one...with a backlit keyboard and 4K. I sold my T-470 to a friend and she absolutely loves it. It might be old, but I had upgraded it before I sold it so it's actually performing better than when I got it. But again....it was why I bought another ThinkPad. I wouldn't buy a new ThinkPad as they are pricey. I'd wait a year and buy a used one that's like these that I bought...like brand new. The one I bought would be thousands of dollars new....but I didn't come close to that. Not even a thousand dollars. Very happy with ThinkPad and I've owned very many MacBook Pros...including the new M1 Air.

Great little laptop for a super price!
I am so happy that I bought this computer, I got the T470 ThinkPad. I just need a strong laptop that will work when I need it to for some occasional work and YouTube videos, nothing fancy. This is perfect, the screen is clear, and the start-up is fast. It is lightweight, and the battery lasts for a long time. I read that some ThinkPad laptops have lasted for 10+ years with no problem. The T470 has lots of connection ports, so I am happy with that. Also, mine does not have a touch screen, that is why I gave a one star for touch screen. I wanted to give 5 stars for everything. The screen is only 14", but I can always hook up a monitor to it, if need be. I waited a few weeks before writing this review to give myself time to try it out, and I am really happy with my purchase. I had a cheap HP laptop that I bought brand new and the body cracked, and it broke in half. Perhaps the larger the screen size, the more flimsy the body of the laptop will be. IDK. I read that these ThinkPads are built strong for business use, so I am hoping this will last. But, I opted to buy the 4-year warranty along with the laptop. Small price to pay for peace of mind. Especially since this is such a great price to begin with. I read a lot of reviews before I bought this model, and before I chose a seller to buy from. Do your research, it can make a difference what seller you buy from. Some give a one-year warranty for free with the purchase. Mine came in perfect condition and looked brand new. I bought from Recharge PC and I would recommend them.

Great refurbished product
The exterior condition of the Thinkpad is very good, clean and scratch-less. The machine booted up flawlessly into Windows 10. The battery appears to be good. The website description states the battery will have 80% of its original capacity, my system showed that it is at 78.9% of its original rating. I bought this laptop to run Linux on. I swapped out the SSD with one I already had so if I had to return the Laptop, I could put the original SSD back in. I was very pleased that Linux Mint installed without any problems, WIFI worked right away and all the Linux programs appeared to function. My only complaint, a minor one, but could be major for someone, is that the refurbisher did not update the UEFI/BIOS, i.e., the firmware of the machine. Fortunately a little research at Lenovo’s website and afterwards searching on the web I found easy instructions to update the firmware through the Linux terminal. So in sum if you want a Windows Laptop I think it would be great. If yprefer Linux this laptop is a very good choice. I am very satisfied with the product except that about a week after receiving it the price was reduced.

Very good Thinkpad for a "Linux Box"
This thinkpad came in (from RefurbConnect) in a surprisingly good quality. Only very (and I mean very) minimal scuffing but upon inspection there wasn't any visual evidence that it has been dropped and it was cleaned too. Inspecting the internals of the laptop, I did see that they've cleaned that as well. Given that this is a Thinkpad, all of the internal components: RAM, SSD, WIFI Controller, Internal Battery, are really easy to get. Heck, the CPU fan and heatsink can be removed with 4 screws, that bears repeating... FOUR SCREWS!!! and you don't even have to remove the motherboard to get to ANY of the internal components I described earlier. I did replace the old crusty CPU thermal paste, but that's really all that I needed to do with the laptop. Seriously... If anyone asks you what is the CHEAPEST but functional laptop to buy in 2022 I would definitely say a USED T-series Thinkpad (t470 or t480) is definitely the way to go! Anyway, running Linux on this laptop is a dream. If you normies don't know what Linux is, just go on YouTube and look up channels like "The Linux Experiment", "EF - Linux Made Simple", and "DistroTube". Unless you HAVE to use software that can ONLY run on Windows 10, if the most that you're using the laptop for is simply as a "bootloader" to your internet browser to "consume content" I'd definitely give Linux a shot on this laptop. Personally, I'd recommend installing Linux Mint Debian Edition 5 (LMDE 5) on the laptop since it's Desktop Environment is pretty close to a classic Windows 10 desktop environment most of ya'll normies are familiar with. LMDE5 runs like a clock on this laptop; wifi, bluetooth and even the fingerprint reader works out of the box. It runs Windows 10 good too, but I personally will use this laptop as a "Linux Box". Hope this review helps.

Updated review***
The listing stated that the laptop would be in excellent condition, but it was definitely not. There was leftover sticker residue on the top of the laptop, glitter on the bottom of the laptop, crumbs in the keyboard, and upon taking the bottom of the laptop off there was cat hair and dust. I took the bottom off because the laptop has 2 batteries and battery number 1 is showing as not present. Battery number 2 is functional, but the laptop won't turn on unless I have it plugged in no matter what the battery percentage is. Overall, unhappy that I bought a listing that proclaimed to be in excellent condition but was not, and not to mention whatever is going on with the main battery that I now have to replace. I'm going to keep it anyways, I need it for class and don't wanna risk waiting for another one just for it to have issues too. :( ****update**** I am not a techy person, so I decided now that I'm a little less busy to go ahead and watch a video on how to remove the internal battery. I was planning to buy a new one since it was not being detected. Turns out, they shipped this laptop to me with NO internal battery to begin with. No wonder it wasn't being detected, it was never even there... Do better, refurbished means all of the bits, pieces, and parts that come with the laptop should be present and working. Very disappointed.

Good Refurbished Laptop
I bought this laptop from "microbeeglobal" and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase with respect to the price. Product came with signs of use on touchpad and keyboard and there is minor scratches on the body however, laptop is categorized as very clean for a refurbished product. I have not yet used the system for everyday work however, upon receiving, I tested hardware using various software tools designed for this purpose and can confirm that it is in excellent condition. Hard drive, RAM and other parts of the motherboard are healthy and in good condition. I power tested the system and CPU and GPU temperatures did not exceed healthy limits, which is an excellent sign for their good performance. The only issue that I had was the battery with a maximum charge capacity of 74% of the original desgin, being only able to keep the system ON for less than one hour. I contacted the seller and they sent me a new battery which now works for 3 hours. Except for this issue, very healthy system relative to the price. Also note that it does not have an internal battery. Tried to install one but was not successful. External battery can easily be relaced with another battery with higher charge capacity (6-cell 48 or 72 Wh instead of the original 3-cell 24 Wh, for $30-$40) for full functionality of the system, which I think is totally worth it. Hope this was helpful!

It's fine, but main battery missing (T470 has 2 batteries, one outside, main one is under palmrest)
T470 is cool. Feels great to type on. Touchpad isn't amazing, but I have no complaint (I would complain if I had a complaint). But on this refurbished one the bottom panel at the center, arrived detached from the top. I'd be fine with it if I knew it's gonna stay the way it is & not continue to worsen. Soldby Re New Tech: Main battery is missing completely, no mention in the posting about that. External battery lasts 3-4hrs of typing & loading web pages. Many reviews claim the same, so possibly sellers doing it on purpose as it's a difficult mistake to make since you have to remove the panel & take it out. Many will just accept the external battery & say nothing, so it's a decent scam. So check when yrs arrives. It otherwise works properly so far after a couple months. I thought I was misremembering about the T470 having the other battery & been too busy to pay attention. But I just checked. My working battery is BAT1. BAT0 is missing (in Linux, devices start counting from 0, so battery 0 is the main battery. & the kernel msg readout for BAT0 slot: "battery absent". BAT1 has 84% its original capacity. The price was equal to other postings with the same pkg of this model. It wasn't discounted to reflect a missing battery or top panel detaching from the bottom. I've only owned very old $100 or less used on craigslist laptops. So this is the nicest computer I have ever owned & I love the keyboard & overall feel & function. So I am biased towards being happy with what I have & am attached to it already, but even then, still I'm thinking I should try to get them to replace it or whatever I'm entitled to since that's why I made this momentous (for me) purchase. So 5stars for T470s, but for this specific refurbishment.....not so much. Makes me wonder if they made the same mistake I saw people saying online they did, under a video of taking one apart. Where commenters roast the video person for prying the panel off from the front, which u aren't supposed to do according to Lenovo instructions as it damages it.
