Intriguing, provocative book
Hydroponic Gardening’ is an intriguing, provocative book by Jason Wright. Are you tired of eating infected and chemically treated vegetables and fruits? Is getting your veggies from super market a sheer waste of time?? Here is the solution! The book discovers all the prospects of growing strawberries, lettuces, herbs and several vegetables without the use of chemicals. Those who don’t have a garden but have an urge to create one can be greatly benefited by this book. The book describes about the hydroponic system of gardening in which plants are grown in water in spite of soil. I own an apartment and have always craved for a garden. It was not possible as the house was short of space and sufficient lighting. Owing to good luck, I came across this book and tried various hydroponic systems given in the book. It actually worked and now I have a beautiful garden to look at. The book is all in all primer for hydroponics. Wright has given the detailed information of the types of systems, lightning, nutrients and various tools to troubleshoot any related problem. I would highly recommend this book to the beginners who want in depth knowledge about hydroponics. This book provides detailed info about light and nutrient requirements for growing plants, which I could not find anywhere! For specialized information on growing vegetables, maintaining the growth, troubleshooting all the problems, this book is incredible! The book deals in specialized equipments which can be easily created at home. The pictures make everything easy to understand. I had easily created an aeroponic system which was fun. However, an ebb or bubbler system would be the best to start with. It is indeed a great book to learn about hydroponic system of gardening. This book can be a useful tool in teaching agricultural sciences. The author has beautifully described the material lists for building each system and how to keep it in good running system. Buying this book helps you to save money and even your crops! The book surely deserves a five star.

Nice Introduction to Hydroponic Gardening
I've been curious about different types of gardening for quite some time. A friend of mine (a hardcore vegan) was recently talking about hydroponic gardening, so when I saw this book I thought it would be worth reading. The price was reasonable and I was hoping it would contain the basic information I would need if I wanted to give this particular type of gardening a try.Prior to reading this book (and hearing my friend mention it in passing) the most information I'd received about hydroponic gardening was from random passages in Heinlein science fiction. This book made hydroponics seem less daunting and more like something that was actually possible to set up on my own. The instructions were clear and the diagrams/pictures were easy to follow. The book DOES address some of the disadvantages of this type of gardening right from the start so you can decide if it's worth your time before you run out and buy supplies. Also, the author offers plenty of troubleshooting advice to help you if you run into problems or need to identify reasons why your fruits/veggies aren't growing the way you hoped.I do plan to try at least the deep water culture system for some herbs or small vegetables. If it works out I will try some of the other systems outlined. I'm not the most DIY type of woman, but with the instructions and pictures provided by the author I think I can manage. Plus, a trip to an Atlanta hydroponics store already showed me that the DIY methods in this book will save me a LOT of money. With that in mind, I recommend this book to anyone ready to try hydroponic gardening without being forced to spend a lot of money.

Helped Me So Much!
I have never been able to grow anything with traditional gardening methods and I was starting to accept the fact that maybe I just wasn't good with any plants at all. I had heard about hydroponic gardening and how much easier it is to grow almost anything, so I gave it a try and this book has really explained a lot to me and given me some very good advice that I was able to use and have success the first time out. I originally bought this as a paperback book when I grew my hydroponic tomatoes and liked it so much that I bought the e-book version so I can have it handy when I start my strawberries and herb garden. I am having so much success with hydroponics that I think I can grow almost anything now!I thought that the book was well written and the pictures were helpful in showing me how to get the best results from what little space I had. If you are looking for a source of information that you can depend on, this is the book for you. Hydroponics is the best way for me to grow vegetables and herbs and this book makes it easy!

it's ok, not great by any stretch
In all honesty this should have been a free book. The explanations of the operation of systems are fine, but the author really just barely touches on the details of them. It seems like with a bit more effort this would have been really helpful. There are numerous misspellings and sentences that don't make sense, there is nowhere near enough information or diagrams to effectively build a couple of the more involved DIY setups and I finished the book with some very basic questions left unanswered. For example, how deep do you plant your starters? Should the roots touch the water? How high should your light be away from your herbs? I guess it's fine if you just want an idea of what hydroponics are all about, but the title "Complete Hydroponic" is very, VERY misleading. Save your time and money and look for your answers on Google for free. Nothing groundbreaking in here.
