Perfect exhaust fan for us
Replaced a basic light with this fan in our vacation home in a dry climate. When we built I was in a rush and didn't think we needed a fan so I just ran one 15a circuit for a light. I wasn't looking forward to crawling into the attic and figuring out how do drop another run of Romex to the switch box so we could control the light and fan separately. So I searched to see if there were exhaust fans with remote controls. Much to my surprise this Broan has the remote that mounts like a traditional wall switch and also color changing LED and speaker. Didn't care out the speaker but it was cheaper than the model without so I gladly paid the $199 so I wouldn't have to run additional electrical. The fan is very powerful and keeps the bathroom steam free even with a hot shower. But best of all the LED light is extremely bright. You can dim it if it's too bright. I'll address some of the negatives I have seen about this light. I think they are from people who haven't taken the few minutes to figure out how it works. The top button on gang box Bluetooth remote always turns the light on to white. It's push on or push off so easy to operate in the dark. The small rocker buttons below the top button dim/brighten the light. The middle button turns on the color mode by pushing and holding briefly. It turns on the last color used. From there you use the same button left or right to change the color. Press again and hold for a couple seconds and it goes into color changing mode. Push the top button and you go back to white. The dimmer buttons also dim the lights in color mode. The bottom button turns the fan on/off. One speed only like most fans. There is no timer function from the remote but the app does have a timer function. Selectable from 5 - 60 minutes. The rest of the app is pretty basic allowing you to turn the light or fan on/off, dim lights, change colors and create color changing scenes. The app doesn't have an option for updating firmware so I wouldn't hold you breath for additional features. We probably won't use the app much. I would have bought the model without the speaker if it was cheaper. Once you make the Bluetooth connection it stays connected even with the app closed. So you will hear typing clicks (at least using an Iphone). It would be nice if it disconnected the BT connection automatically when the app is closed. The app has no control over the speaker. It's just like a basic BT speaker. But it does sound decent for what it is. The BT connection doesn't automatically connect which is a good thing. It would be very annoying if it did. As far as Installation goes the instructions are poor but it installs the same as any other fan so Youtube is helpful. I used the $20 wall vent kit and vented it into our garage which has a 20' ceiling. One less hole in the roof. I've been venting our on demand hot water heater this way for years with no problems. I would choose this fan even for new construction as the color LED option is nice and it compliments our other lights with Kasa color changing bulbs. So even though it's expensive compared to a tradition exhaust fan/light I give it 5 stars.

Cool and Neat Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Light
This light/fan is easy to install. At least that is what my electrician said. I did not cost very much for me to have it installed, for what its worth. I really, really like this fan/light. It has a modern, trendy and stylist look. It is packed with features. The fan itself is quiet. I have heard fans that were more quiet, but this one is still pretty good. It can be used as a regular ceiling light or you can change the color of the light for it to be used as a mood or night light. It has pretty much all your basic colors including blue, green, yellow, purple, red, and orange. You can change the color of the light by using the included remote or an app on your phone. The unit includes a remote control that replaces the fan switch that was already there. So ultimately you can control three features ( the fan, the regular light and the color lights), using only one switch space. I had another similar fan/light installed a few years ago and I had to get another switch installed to use it. The only negative that I can think of with this unit is that the remote is not hook to power and runs on battery. And to replace the remote's battery you must remove the switch cover plate, take out the remote and then change the battery. It is minor, but still takes extra time to do. I really like this like. It has all the features that I was looking for and sets the bar high for any bathroom fan/light that I would follow it with. I highly recommend this fan/light for those looking to take their bathroom to the next level and up their exhaust fan/light combo game.

Quiet fan, good for mood-setting in the bathroom with music and colored lights!
We love this exhuast fan for our bathroom! The sound is VERY quiet, there are not one but two lights (one white, and one you can make any color of the rainbow for special effects bathroom!), and you can play your music on the speaker. The controls are very intuitive; our contractor installed them on the wall rather than having a remote control that could get lost. The sound through the speaker is good. This seems like very good quality in terms of its build and it was straightforward to install. It seems to work quite well to clear up the steam in the bathroom as well. In fact we liked it so much, we purchased it for our other newly-renovated bathroom.

Price is high but features are great, Sound is OK.
Installation- It isn't hard putting the new fan in, it's getting the old fan out that is a pain. My wife thought it was a far reach putting an RGB Led lighting in the bathroom until she took her tub and then she got it. I listen to several pod casts while getting ready in the morning and thought a speaker fan would be a good idea. Cons, 1. Fan does not drown out sound or sound quality, But this is not a JBL speaker by any means. If you use a portable sound bar you may still prefer it over the speaker in the fan. 2. Lighting is a 10 in my book but we have only used Blue or Pink so far and we both like it very much for mood. 3. Fan is a 5 could be more silent in my opinion since this is combined with a speaker. If someone has a decibel reader please post the noise level in a 100 sqft bath for comparison. But at half volume you defiantly hear the fan over the sound. 4. Was it worth the money? If I were buying it as a new fan for a glam bath then yes, but no also. Built in speakers and can lighting can achieve the same effects in a more glamorous bath. I bought it because our fan had burned up and needed to be replaced and the one we purchased happened to be an open box from Amazon Warehouse priced at $139 and since the replacement fan was $116, Oh well why not! Pro - 1. Exhausts moisture very well. 2. Kids Love this thing. 3. Best nightlight ever for baths. 4. It's just fun when doing all those bathroom things that are normally boring and tasking.

LOVE IT!
Great light/ fan combo unit. Not too difficult to install. Love the included wireless wall switch that has controls for the main light, night light and fan, without having to add additional wiring.

Great idea, terrible execution
I used a similar fan (Homewerks) at my brother in laws house that also had the Bluetooth speaker and Ioved the idea and decided to upgrade the 30 year old fan in my master bath. The Bluetooth model has the speaker always on and available to pair to, which I wasn't a 'fan' of (heh) so I opted for the Chroma model. The main reason for the upgrade was increased CFM, lower noise, and the RGB LED lights. All three fell short of expectations. After digging through a foot and a half of blown in insulation in my attic and cutting a bigger whole in my ceiling, I finally got the box installed and wired up. I did not hardwire the fan to have constant power since I'm not comfortable only being able to turn off an exhaust fan through the breaker. The fan does not respond to the separate battery operated remote (which feels incredibly cheap btw) for a good 5-10 seconds after turning power on. Sounds nit-picky but I don't want a multistep process to turn on the fan when I shower early in the morning. When it finally did respond, only the white light worked and the fan was as loud as my 30 year old fan I just took out. To top it off, I felt more air getting blown back into the room than getting sucked into the exhaust. On paper this fan is a good bargain and has great features but unfortunately none of them actually deliver. Rather than leave an open hole in my ceiling and wait for a replacement, which I'm sure wouldn't last more than 2 years if it was fully functional, I went to Lowe's and bought a plain Panasonic fan. It does not have a light or any fancy features but it has much better build quality, is actually whisper quiet, and pulls way more air out of the bathroom for about $20 less than this model. I'd much rather having boring and reliable than some shiny junk.

Fits in 2x6 joist bays!
This works well, and I can confirm that I was able to install it without drama in between 2x6” joists; other similarly featured fans would not fit in this space between the first and second story. It also is able to move plenty of air despite my using an existing 3” duct (with a reducer, which was not included). Makes the bathroom brighter, controls humidity, and the kids love the colored light feature. The use of the wireless remote for control makes it possible to have separate light and fan switching without running new wires!

Features are half baked and half features and can't turn on with normal power switch.
The more I think about it the more frustrating it is that at so many decisions this company chose poorly without seeming reason. Examples: If this is a replacement exhaust vent, one must purchase a new switch plate to accommodate the switch box. If one is doing this, you're already next to a constant source of power. But no. This isn't useful as the switch box requires batteries. These batteries have to be removed. This means the switch plate has to be removed. Can anyone provide one good affirmative positive reason this is superior to the existing wired power available mere millimeters away? Or if one does not desire to replace existing switch plate one must cut a new hole in the wall. What hubris of this company to say that their equipment is so valuable it's worthy of causing you to do either if the two above! If one desires neither of these, there is no self contained box that can just be set on a bathroom counter. It's designed to be placed into the wall. How easy would it have been to have a hook up for wires OR battery use? Or be able to be snapped into a closed container that can rest on a counter or be attached to a wall with adhesive, that may or may not show the switch to be removed (battery use) or clicked back in when not in used and be charged by wall wiring? When making decisions the design fan didn't choose the smart direction, at every turn. -No scheduling (pre-selected colors at certain times (useful to not have bright light affect eyes at night or to stay on as a dim night light) or run the vent daily for x time) -No defaults (set color with preferenced brightness/dimness) This should be able to connect to Alexa or Google home at this price. This shouldn't have the most rigid departure from standard procedure, such as being able to turn on with a normal switch or having wired power when it's designed to rest in a wall box. This would also allow for motion sensing or adding a hygrometer to monitor humidity and thereby trigger on and off of the fan. Be advised you WILL have to make concessions if you desire to keep it. Does it work well despite these unnecessary concessions that have to be made? So far yes. Do I think any of these were good ideas? Absolutely not; quite the opposite. Also, wireless would be a better option that Bluetooth. I do not prefer to use these speakers over my phone, so having to connect to this device via Bluetooth to use the timer function makes my phone connect to the speaker and therefore automatically outputs sound there (which I almost never would want). I only realize it later when my music is playing not in my phone, as I expect and I'm too far away to hear it playing elsewhere. It's just a lot of half baked ideas that *COULD* be great but as they are, most assuredly, can be frustrating. Sometimes a poorly done thing is worse than not having an expectation of a thing. This, again, COULD BE, much better, even with a firmware update, should they choose to go that route. It seems to me that at each decision this company chose the least effective way resulting in less functionality with each decision despite having had the potential for the better decision they opted not to make. ----- 1. I do not like that the additional switch box is mandatory. This should be an option for extra features. Our previous device had a separate set of wires for light and one for fan, so we could quickly and easily decide which or both to use. This one makes one of my existing switches useless. Guests have to keep the old power switch on and then use the secondary provided switch. 2. The app is half baked. There are no real smart options or schedules. You're forced to use this secondary box/app which COULD have awesome features like setting lights based on times. I be don't want a bright light in the middle of the night but would prefer it to default to red. I want my white to be full brightness. Neither is possible by default. 3. The fan can't be set to auto turn off after x time. Sure you can do this in the app, but do I want everyone who comes into my house to have to download and use the app or do I want to log in every time someone turns it on to set a timer? No. This was a poor design. If the extra switch could just be an adhesive box this would make more sense or a click in and removable device that can be attached to the wall without having to permanently cut a hole. Our even a waterproof box that can be suctioned on the shower wall. This is poor planning. All that said the light is bright the fan is not loud. Could be better with app updates. I hope they will update. Make accessible with Alexa perhaps or IFTTT so it can trigger other things or have notifications sent to restroom. There are lots of options if they get out of their own way.
