This device is actually super difficult to open and close, and the mechanism used to "lock" it is flimsy. After fussing with the case long enough to get it opened once, I managed to get the 2.5" SSD placed inside, and was never able to get the lid to close to my satisfaction. It always felt like it was not quite there, and I didn't want to press too hard and risk breaking it.After a few months of this device sitting quietly behind my dock, I was ready to archive the SSD and replace it with a new one. I had to fuss for WAY longer the second time to even open it up, and was very displeased to see that he plastic locking mechanism was cracked, and would no longer close at all.This isn't a device that you actively "use" in the traditional sense. It's something you handle everyday or move around with. I literally used it once, left it alone for several months, and when I came back to it, is had broken.

This case is a mystery: excellent quality of the case intended as an aluminum shell but a terrible opening mechanism that breaks at the glance. Never seen an object so biased in its manufacture.Given that I constantly use hdd/case and in general electronic/computer material etc... and I pay a lot of attention and above all I am delicate, having said that at the first opening (I repeat "first") the opening button broke (it is a knurled slider).Furthermore, trying to do without the button, once opened the two shells of the case do not close again.The only component of the evaluation that is not one star is "Quality of material" as I made the arithmetic average between the excellent aluminum case (5 stars) and the very very bad locking mechanism and the closure itself (1 star).The great aesthetics of the object makes you doubt that it can be done so badly, in fact, looking at the photos, I did not rely on the negative reviews... here... do not make my mistake, do not buy it. The cheapest and most beautiful case is useless if the locking mechanism breaks, it is made of plastic and it is not even repairable or replaceable (which I thought of doing but then seeing how some plastics are firmly glued I did not want to take off the possibility of refound).In conclusion: Great design, terrible execution.

It does the job, nice and simple, my only issue was how loose the open switch is.

Works well with Scandisk ssd. Computer recognized drive immediately and transfer rates are unimpeded. Cons; The cable is really short 18". Also the case latch is weak and cover is easily bent. Once the drive is installed inside, the unit is solid.

The product works well overall. The maximum speeds will depend on the drive you put in it. For example, if you have an SSD, you can expect read and write speeds upwards of 550MB/s. The back cover doesn't properly fit. I think it has something to do with the cushions pushing the opposite direction. It's not a huge deal because 1) it still partly fits, and 2) you can use it without the cover if you really want; just be careful with it. This might bug some people, and that's understandable.

The back cover doesn't properly fit and it is easy to be open accidentally. It is design problem rather than manufactory problem. I put a tap to prevent the back cover open.

For $30 I’m not really pleased with build quality at all. There is a ton of play on the bottom panel even with foam inserts, and it just clicks and pops in and out if you press on it. It is spring loaded to make opening easier I guess, but as you can see in the photos it causes that side to completely pop out. I might’ve gotten a dud but I’m definitely sending this back.

I was looking for a fast USB C 2.5” enclosure for a 2TB SSD drive. This drive was everything I was searching for! It is a small enclosure that is durable, metal, and pleasing to look at. Most importantly, it has a 10GBs transfer rate! It was exactly what I was looking for in a small, compact drive enclosure! Build quality is great! After hooking it up, I am very pleased! You won’t be disappointed!
