Excellent pens, and long lasting. Really good product.
I love these pens for practicing several hands of calligraphy. I find these pens to be very durable. Unlike a regular chisel tip pen, the ink is delivered from between two metal plates, so the ink flow is very wet and it takes a light touch to create the distinct thin and thick of several calligraphy styles. I'd recommend these pens be used with a pen & ink pad that has little to no bleed. I've been using the "green" and "orange" pen for about 5 years, without a change in performance.I purchased this new 4 pen set to get more of the various sizes. This pen has a consistently free flow of ink and is very easy to clean. Only thing I'd change is to build this pen so that you can put the cap on the end and that there be a 5.0mm size between the 2.4 - 6mm size. This is a great "quick draw" pen set you can just keep inked and ready to write/practice calligraphy. I would purchase these pens again if needed.(The photos show a sample of each pens size.)

Excellent performance. Poor design of the cap
Easy to use once you get the ink flow started. Fountain pens of all types are both a joy and a severe headache. Good things: Generally the pens flow well. The edges produced are sharp. Looks great on the right paper (Bristol or similar). I recommend these to any calligraphy or art enthusiast. They are among the best of their kind. Bad things: the cap does not attach to the pen when you take it off the nib, making it easy to lose. That is a very poor design. Once you've lost the cap getting the ink flow to start becomes more difficult. Good and bad: the ink reservoirs are meant to be disposable, but they can easily be refilled with a dropper and a nail or something like it to hold open the flap at the top of the reservoir. The first time I got ink all over the reservoir and me until I figured out how to keep the flap open. If the cap would screw onto both ends, this would be a 5 star review. Come on Pilot.

Perfect set especially for beginners
Perfect set especially for beginners. I am new to the art of lettering and decided to start out with learning italic calligraphy. I had decided to try the staedtler beginners set to begin with, much to my surprise I was a bit disappointed. I had so much trouble with getting the ink to flow each time I practiced and I grew frustrated very fast. I did a little research and decided to give the pilot parallel pens a try. I haven't had any problems at all with these pens, the ink flows immediately every time. I love that the caps screw onto the barrel, now I don't worry about the ink drying up on the nib or the cap falling off. Price is very reasonable for a beginning set with such great quality. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on supplies to start out with just in case Calligraphy wound up not being for me. So if you are searching for an affordable, easy to use and great beginning set of calligraphy pens, your search is over. I highly recommend the pilot parallel pen set especially if you are just starting out.

Quality pens and well worth the price.
Since I usually use these as dip pens, the included ink cartridges are not really needed. The packaging I got is different from the Amazon photo above.A squeeze bulb is included with each pen (for cleaning purpose?)The bulb is covered by the packaging and can't be seen from outside. No converters are included. If a converter is needed, use the Pilot CON-40 converter for these pens.I like:These pens come with quality nibs which are smooth and versatile. And most importantly, they got my job done.Easy to disassemble and clean (no tools needed).Well worth the price.I don't like:Pilot don't sell the nibs alone.I hope Pilot would offer more nib sizes in future.

Game changer
These are fantastic. I've been doing calligraphy for longer than I can remember. I've had many fountain pen nibs specially ground to italic so I'd have the convenience of a fountain pen. This is a game changer. These are as close as anything I've ever seen to italic dip pens. You may not need all four sizes, but if you have them you'll find a way to use them. It's nice to get converters so you're not messing with cartridges all the time, but the 6mm nib blows through ink fast so you might want to consider turning the barrel into the ink reservoir and filling it with an eyedropper. An O ring and some silicone grease and you're home free.

I use the 1.5mm to fill out EVERYTHING!!!
These things are so freaking kool!! They have a very smooth feel to them when you write. I've tried caligraphy/parallel pens before and gave up because the lines were always spotty. The way the ink flows, makes it sooooooo much easier than it has ever been with all the other calligraphy pens I've tried. It has been two weeks since I paid the $20, and it's been the best twenty bucks I've spent since the start of the year. I literally use the 1.5mm to fill out EVERYTHING!; I'm not even exhagerating, I take that pen with me everywhere I go! I LOVE using these pens. I often find myself making up poems (kinda cheesy), writing my thoughts, to scribing obsceneties. Doesnt really matter as long as I'm writing something with these PILOT Parallel Pens. If you are just starting out, I couldnt imagine finding easier pens to write with. The one very minor drawback to the ink flow, is that it flows, flows, flows. So, if you use thin paper like notebook paper or graph paper (which is great for getting your spacing & hieghts down), it will bleed through. Not that it stopped me from filling up that page and every piece after that till I had no more pages left. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE PENS! I would also buy refills for them as well. I go through a cartridge and a half a day at times, but I've been practicing alot.

Pilot Parallel Calligraphy Pen Set
Having started learning calligraphy very recently, I came across several recommendations for these parallel pens. I have found them just right for the task as well as being easy to use. The ability to easily blend ink to create colour effects by just touching the nibs of two pens is a very nice feature. I am very happy with the set which was delivered to me on time.

Beautifully smooth for great calligraphy
I have been using parallel pens for calligraphy for over ten years and they are so beautifully smooth to write with. The four different sizes are well gauged for different lettering sizes. Cartridges come in a variety of colours and you can even blend two colours together to get beautiful effects.

How easy it is to use...
I received the MEATER as a gift for Christmas just in time to cook the Turkey Crown which was cooked to PERFECTION! I have since used it on a ham joint and steaks. All perfect. I can highly Recommend this product.

The best product that Calligraphers can get
Amazing product. Must buy. No regrets at all.Just one thing, the inks are very expensive of pilot. So when your complemntory catridges are over, then you may choose some other ink, like Ecoline. For begginners , pls buy 6mm. When used to it , then go for the rest.Delivery rook time for the product but it was fine as the same was shipped from US at a much cheaper price of 2900 rs only whereas other seller were selling at 4200 plus
