Excellent camera bag for travelling by plane or car

*by C***F on Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2014*

Finally found a camera/computer bag that will allow me to travel (comfortably) with most of my camera equipment as a carry-on.I have purchased (and returned) so many bags over the past few months that I had almost given up trying to find a bag that will let me carry my large DSLR (Nikon D-810), two very large lenses (24-70 and 70-200 Nikon lenses) and two smaller lenses (50 mm prime and 105 mm macro prime), my small JVC video camera and other peripherals (batteries, chargers, flash, memory cards, cables, etc.), including my small laptop (Dell XT3). Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, I took a chance and ordered this bag.... and boy, am I glad I did.First off, I had to remove quite a few of the dividers to make room for everything but everything fits well and snug, won't move around, and no obvious bulges (unlike me :() It is nice to see that the manufacturer over-thought the dividers; I used the extra ones as some extra padding for the camera. The inside flap (above the main compartment) has three large attached zippered bags where cables, memory cards, filters, etc. can be easily stored. They also include a TSA approved combination lock cable which can secure the camera compartment, in case you have to check the bag (although I don't ever foresee that happening as this bag should fit in most overhead compartments or, if you remove the tablet, maybe even under the seat). This is a perfect bag for what I intend to do with it, and that is travel by plane or car or use it at work to have all of my equipment easily available if I need it. It is a backpack and so far, quite comfortable to wear and wearable on short bike rides. That said, it is not useful for any long treks or excursions (long hikes or long bike rides). At that point, you'd be better off using a bag specifically designed for that, which unfortunately as I found out, are simply not well-suited for airplane travel (e.g. Lowepro pro trekker, which is a great bag that I use for those sorts of camping type trips).

Oustanding Backpack with great customer service

*by M***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2013*

I purchased this backback for a trip to Minnesota to photograph black bears. I had a ton of gear to carry so my camera roller just wouldn't hold it all so I started shopping for a second bag to use a carry on for the plane. The Think Tank Airport Accelerator fit the bill perfectly. The bag is roomy with lots of dividers to customize it anyway you might need. It could hold my Nikon 600mm VR lens but I decided to put that lens in my roller (since it has wheels) and pack my camera bodies, extra lenses and other items in the Think Tank. It held my 15.6" laptop and 8" tablet easily. I weighed it on a very accurate scale and I was hauling 29 lbs. of gear in it. The shoulder straps are comfortable and well padded. After hauling it around 2 airports for my connections it wasn't too bad. I noticed that the tripod straps weren't included when the bag was delivered so I contacted Think Tank Customer service in they were in my mail box 4 days later.....that's what I call customer service. It fits in the over head bins of larger planes without any issues. On the smaller commuter planes like a CRJ-200 I just took out my laptop and tablet and it fit into the overhead with a little wiggling. I've taken it on 2 different week long trips backed to the max and getting ready for a 3rd trip with it and so far I'm impressed with the bag in every way. If I had to find any cons with it, the cable lock that comes attached with the bag can only lock one compartment, either the main camera area or the laptop section, not both. Since I don't plan to check it, I don't have a problem with that. I did pick up a decent TSA lock and put it inside the bag just in case. Again, just thought I'd let others know about this one small thing.

My main bag if i want all my stuff. caries sooooo much. and once the straps are on my shoulders its surprisingly comfortable. ive got 2 bodies. 5 lenses, 4 flashes, mavic pro, laptop, ipad, triggers, magmod stuff, nf filters, tons of other accessories all in here. i got a nylon strap to wrap around the top handle to put my tripod on the side, works fine. could probably put small light stand on there too, hmm. great bag.
