used it to fit my new cowboy hat to my head. the hat was slightly smaller requiring some stretch. worked great. i did use some steam on the hat first.

I wear a 6-7/8 long oval campaign hat every day at work, so I know the size I need. I recently ordered a cattleman hat for casual wear but it wasn't available in long oval. I figured I'd give this a shot to shape the hat to the correct size (along with a steamer of course).It worked great, but if your head is closer to the small side of the stretcher's range, you may want to tweak it a bit to make a long oval. I simply I trimmed a bit off the "corners" of the blocks (and added the taper back on). Now when I stretch the hat it makes an accurate long oval.With the unmodified blocks it will still work, but if you're used to a custom hat you'll notice the difference. The radius is just a hair bigger than I was used to, which is likely to accommodate the high end (9-1/2) of the range. This is no fault of the hat jack, you can't expect a custom fit from a ranged item.You CAN use this for the 6-1/2 without modifying it, especially if you have a round head. With just a little modification you can also us it to shape a perfect long oval from a standard hat even at the low end of the range.Overall, it is a great product. I'd buy it again if need another one, and I'd recommend it to a friend.Money well spent, I can make a custom fit hat without buying custom hats. This will save me a fortune.

Easy to use and instructions are helpful. Stretched my expensive Stetson with little trouble and really improved the fit. The hat was tight front to back and this stretcher is perfect for that issue. Recommended.

My head is small and I'm in between size 6 3/4 and 7. I always buy on the smaller side because there's really nothing you can do with a hat that's too big. I bought a Brixton cap in 6 3/4 and it was uncomfortably small - it made a mark on my forehead after 5 mins of wear and I thought maybe I'd stretch it by simply wearing it a lot. That didn't happen - I always opted for caps that fit better and would be less of a strain. Felt bad because I spent $60 on the hat, though, and of course, could no longer return. I bought this hat stretcher, put it on the Brixton cap and left it for 2 days. Like night and day. Just that much more room and the hat fits snug but no longer makes a mark on my forehead. It's great because it's a well made hat that looks lovely, and now it's my favorite to wear. I thought it was kind of ridiculous to spend $15 on a piece of wood with some screws in it, but I went for it - and now this is the only reason why I can wear this hat, rather than waste it. Recommend!

Keeps my hat in shape.

First off, let me say that I love this product. I did however run into a problem when a friend asked me to stretch their "fitted" hat. The issue was that fitted hats tend to have a lot of flex / stretchy material in them. As a result, to actually "stretch" them, you have to go beyond there normal Stretch/flex range of the material. This unit (size small) was not large enough for this Flex Fit hat.After many trips to fastener stores looking for longer hardware (both normal and reverse thread) I ended up modifying it by removing the bolts (Torx tip) and gluing / nailing pieces of wood inside (see picture) to add another 1/2" on either side of the device. Now it works fantastic!I will gladly purchase a second unit (this time in size large) because I find them useful to keep them inside your hats until you are ready to wear them.BTW, this also works very well on snap backs, which you wouldn't think would stretch, but it worked very well for me.Hopefully this review is helpful for others.

Love it! Worked wonders on my hat…. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it works great but! If i would have been happier if I bought the four sided one

This stretcher is effective in increasing hat size. I was skeptical, but it worked on both my cowboy hat & New Era baseball caps - recommended.
