Our overseas military personnel were treated to broadcasts of these specially recorded discs during and after WWII. You'll hear Ella Fitzgerald (That's Rich; I'll See You in My Dreams), Jo Stafford (Blue Moon; Lonesome Road; Am I Blue), Connee Boswell (Shine on Harvest Moon), Bob Crosby (When I Grow Too Old to Dream), Martha Tilton & Jack Leonard (Thanks for the Memory), Trummy Young & Henry Wells (I Want a Little Girl), Betty Roche (Trouble, Trouble) and more!

Good music suffers from old-time technology
Some interesting selections, but questionable audio quality and some more liner note info would be nice, too. A few more upbeat numbers would also help.

V disc selection
The wartime records made for the American armed forces were meant to be destroyed at the end of the war. Fortunately many survived in Europe and the far east. Now selections such as this 2-CD set give us the chance to hear just how good the music was. This set concentrates on the vocalists that recorded for V-disc and offers many songs that were not recorded commercially.
