Sturdy ferret cage
So far this has been the best for my farret ! He hasn't been able to break any of the bars and I have even had the puppy chewing on the bars. It was pretty easy to build prob need 2 people. The water bottle that came with it does leak from time to time and the option for the two different bottoms was a plus. The only downfall is we had to put something in front of the plastic try cause he pushes it out to free himself from the cage. But 10/10 I would recommend

Honestly not that bad
So I've been keeping my three rats in this cage for about three months now and I've gathered a good bit of info from my personal experience. When the box got here, it wasn't in the best shape. There was a hole in one of the sides (pictured) and all of the edges were taped up (it was heavy, so the damage to the cardboard was understandable). Upon opening the box and figuring out what goes where, I did find quite a few areas of damage. The metal part of the cage itself was in good condition, but the plastic washers for the wheels were in terrible shape (they would just disintegrate in your hands), and some of the shelves came with cracks or pieces broken off (one of the shelves came unusable due to both tabs on one side being broken, so it could no longer support any weight). Some of the metal panels of the cage were warped, making for very difficult construction (at least by myself). The top piece in particular was bowed out and was Extremely hard to hold in place long enough for me to screw it to the sides. The instructions do not sport the best English, but there's really not that many steps and its pretty self explanatory. Overall, I would give ease of construction a 6/10.If you are looking to keep rats, you may want to consider a different cage. The gaps on this caged are just large enough to allow a rat to slip through. I knew this when I bought the cage and just opted to cover it in some wire mesh (I used hardware cloth). Honestly, I thought this would be an easy process and wouldn't take much time, but after three days of working on and off and copious amounts of scratches, I finally got the job done (just to be clear, the scratches were caused by the hardware cloth and my terrible construction skills, not the cage). To be fair, I am no hardware expert, but if you're not looking to put in the time to do this extra step then you may just want to purchase a different cage. The size of the doors would really be my only complaint I've found while using this cage. Their small size and odd shape make it a little difficult to fit big things in there, though I haven't run into many issues with this (I just don't need to put that much big stuff in there you know). The main difficulty caused by the door size is how it makes attaching things to the back of the cage kinda hard. Because I put the mesh on the cage, I can't fit my hand through the bars and reach into the cage from the outside, so anytime I want to attach things to the back I need to reach through the door in the front and practically hug the cage to get my hands to meet (it may be difficult to picture mentally but it sure is funny to look at). I guess this wouldn't be a problem if you have long arms, or maybe super tiny fingers (or didn't cover the cage in mesh- the sacrifices we make for our pets amiright).Cleaning this cage isn't very hard (I mean my rats pee absolutely everywhere and I still get the job done). I did find that the metal tray on the bottom is not very useful, and I had to cover it (I believe the purpose was to have a bottom with holes to allow for waste materials to fall through, but the slits being about an inch wide just makes it hard for my rats to walk on so I covered it). I do like the shallow plastic catch tray on the bottom, but I just use it for storage as I covered up the rack above it. I DO have a complaint about the little tab that holds the bottom wire rack in and keeps it from being opened up from the inside, and that is that that tab is the most annoying thing on the planet ONLY if you put the tray in upside down. I know that if you're reading this without having bought and used the cage you may be a little confused, but its just really annoying I had to get that out. Whew. I do struggle sometimes but hey at least I'm honest about it.Despite all of the not so stellar things I've listed, I still do really like this cage. Price wise, it compares very well to more expensive cages. The size of the cage is awesome and it is quite structurally sound once you get it set up. It is very easy to move and the wheels work perfectly. I would definitely recommend purchasing this cage if you are looking for a good option for your pet without breaking the bank. :)

Great for a chinchilla
I bought this for my new chinchilla and she loves it! The pull out pan makes cleaning waste and spilled food very easy. The metal is very thick so even sharp chinchilla teeth cant cut through it!

Great space for two rats
Perfect for our two rats. They were scared to move to a new home, but they love it now. We can put different toys or food bowls at different levels, they enjoy scaling up the sides, and it has plenty of room for them to have shared and individual space. The only issues I have with it (and these are very small issues) are: the rats love to shove bedding and drop poop out the side bars, so I have pee pads down and vacuum regularly; and the bars are spaced a bit far apart for a standard water bottle to easily clip on, but I make it work by angling the bottles slightly to make them fit over two bars. Overall, it is easy to clean because all surfaces can either be vacuumed up, wiped down, or hosed down

Plastic shelves and ramps
The last one I ordered had metal shelves. This one has plastic and my chinchilla is chewing the plastic. These cages are not made for animals that chew .
