Review: Gnarly humbucker! - I’m not an amazing guitarist, so don’t job my playing haha. But here’s a short clip of what this pickup is capable of. Some say this pickup isn’t very versatile, but in my short time playing with this pickup so far I would say that it is pretty amazing. I’m a big fan of Seymour Duncan pickups. My other guitars all have SD pickups. This is my first “invader”. I chose it because I’ve read about it a little and it just looks awesome in my hello kitty Squier lol. Sound quality is amazing, it has a low growl when In drop D tuning, and a nice crunch / punchy palm mute sound In standard tuning. I’ve yet to drop it below D but I am Sure that it is going to sound beefy in drop C or A tuning. My guitar only has a single volume knob control so it’s hard to comment on just how versatile this pickup is, but I’m happy with it overall. It sounds clean to me without distortion, and when I crank the gain it sounds so good! Sustain is great, and it has a clean / mean growl with the gain up. It was easy to install, and it is high quality. Seymour Duncan pickups are built to last a lifetime. My oldest guitar is 23 years old and the pickup is still going strong. Anywho, if you’re looking for a humbucker to pair with your Hello Kitty guitar, or any other guitar for that matter and want to shake the walls with heavy / high gain. This pickup is for you, you’ll love it. I’ve only been jamming with it for 2 days and I’m in love with it. I’m so glad I got it, and actually I might get another for one of my other guitars someday soon.
Review: The Humbucker That You Want - I own a Fender Stratocaster HSS that has been good to me for a long time now. The sounds quality while playing clean on the single coils is awesome in my opinion. The stock humbucker was a slightly different story. I mean, they still sound good but I wanted a "hot" humbucker pickup that would satisfy my Hard Rock/Metal needs. Here comes the Seymour Duncan SH-8B Invader pickup. I purchased it not really knowing how it was going to sound but the reviews (and look) are what helped me buy this humbucker. It was definitely the right move. After a couple hours of "amateur" installation, along with cleaning of the guitar and parts, this pickup looked awesome on my Olympic White Strat. Paired with my Peavey Scorpion 175w Amp, the pickup was SCORCHIN! I was honestly surprised the difference it made on my guitar. The sounds quality is still great even with the hot fuzz and distortion (I enjoy playing Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, etc). The clarity of the pinch harmonics, finger tapping, and palm mutings on this pickup are much, much better than my stock humbucker. Only bad thing I would have to say is I had to drill another hole for this pickup to fit but that was due to the odd screw placements on the old humbucker (2 holes on the left, 1 on the right?!?) Just reviewing it got me excited. Dang, now I wanna go play guitar....

## Features

- Installing an Invader changes your guitar’s DNA. No matter how dangerous your stock pickup claims to sound, the Invader will transform your guitar into the mean, heavy-sounding beast you always knew it could be. The Invader’s power comes from the combination of specially overwound coils, three large ceramic magnets, and its striking, oversized metal oxide pole pieces.
- These unique pole pieces expand the overall magnetic field and widen the frequency spectrum, which is why every note played through an Invader sounds so rich and massive. The ceramic magnets add depth and clarity while the large hex caps deliver smooth string-to-string balance.
- The Invader delivers the thickest, deepest low-end response of any passive pickup we make. Chords sound almost subsonic with lower tunings, but balance nicely with the crunchy treble, keeping everything well defined. While the Invader bridge looks mean and vicious, because it is mean and vicious, the Invader neck humbucker is surprisingly warm and smooth, despite its intimidating looks, and yields a thick crunch and moaning sustain.
- Handmade in Santa Barbara, California: Seymour Duncan takes pride in designing and crafting our products to create the most amazing sound possible. That starts with providing an environment that attracts and retains our great team of engineers, product designers and craftsmen, many of whom have been with the company for decades.
- DCR Neck: 7.50, Magnet: Ceramic, 4c Shielded Cable
