Great for the price
Holes are the perfect size. Overall it's very solid, but the little metal ~ shaped prongs do can out every once in a blue moon. Just pressing it a bit against the lip of the basket will put them back into alignment, but eventually I had one break on me after several years of use. No big deal though, even with just two it holds together well. I bought this as a backup just in case something happens to one of the other prongs. Really good for the price.

I'm surprised.
I didn't think a tea ball would warrant a review but here I am. Hole size is what one would expect, small and plentiful. It has a one piece basket so there is nothing to go wrong there. The lid secure on well by three fingers that mate with three slots, just pay attention to what your doing and it works just fine. My surprise is that those things aren't the standard. I bought this and a different similar one about the same price, the basket on the other is stamped from a ribbon, rolled into the taper and spot welded together. A separate bottom is stamped from a disc with a tapered lip that, I guess, was supposed to be spot welded to the body but being a separate loose piece makes it pretty worthless. I would have said there is nothing special about this one, it's just built like it's supposed to be but juxtaposing it to the competition makes it a vastly superior.

Great quality & size for making pitchers of tea
I like to flavor my Lipton tea with other flavors. The Lipton is in bags, but the flavored teas I buy are from Teavana and are loose & can't be just dumped into the pitcher to steep. So, I wanted a large infuser to put the loose tea in, to drop down in the pitcher along with the Lipton tea bags and allow to steep in the sun.I chose the Schef's because it looked big enough to hold enough and looked nice.I was not disappointed. This infuser will probably hold up to 1/4 cup of loose tea, maybe more. That's more than enough for the use I need it for.I was impressed with the quality of the infuser when I opened the nice little box and would definitely recommend it to others.

I wish I knew this existed sooner!
I grow fresh spearmint, and before I purchased the Schefs Premium Tea Infuser, I would just throw a few stalks (with leaves) in the boiling water with the teabags to make iced tea. Now I am able to chop up the spearmint, which gives much more flavor to the tea, and I don't have to try and fish all of the leaves out of the pitcher. I like to make two pitchers of tea at a time, and I realized that I don't have to cut separate bunches of the spearmint, as I get just as much flavor by re-using the spearmint from my first pitcher. The sweetness from the spearmint is more noticeable, so I don't have to use as much sugar to sweeten my tea! I am excited to try some new teas, and this infuser easily has room for me to put tea and spearmint in it at the same time. Highly recommended!

Great for sun tea, too large for pitcher
I bought this to make sun tea with loose teas. The problem is that it only fits in the mouth of my glass pitcher (the rectangle kind that has ribs on it and a plastic lid). I still get a flavorful tea, but I would prefer if it was submerged. It fits fine into a papered chef pitcher, but then you have that plunger thing in it that actually makes putting the lid on the container difficult when the infuser is in it. But those are personal problems. If you have a pitcher with a big enough mouth you'll be very happy with this infuser. Not much escapes through the holes and it seems like a sturdy product.

Great for Cold Brewing Iced Tea in a Pitcher
I love this infuser! Great for cold brewing iced tea in a pitcher. I just learned that cold brewing gives tea a better flavor than steeping in boiling water. I just tried this with hibiscus flowers for hibiscus tea. This large sized infuser holds just the right amount of dried flowers for my new glass pitcher. The chain is plenty long enough to suspend the infuser in the pitcher, and I don't have to clean up a separate pot or risk spilling and staining things when transferring the tea from the pot to the pitcher. The lid screws on easily with an audible click when it's secure. Am very happy with this.

Holey metal cup Batman!
Had bought pretty much every other big tea infuser.I wanted them to be used in a cooler, with ice in it. Every single other one had a metal mesh, and every single metal mesh came loose and disconnected form the rim on the first or second use. Not to mention got completely warped. This one has far finer holes, which stops a lot more dried mint (what I wanted it for) from escaping, and there is no mesh to warp or disconnect, it's a metal cup with holes in it.

I would definitely recommend Schefs and hope to shop with them again.
I make loose leaf tea in different size tea pots depending. A small pot with a cup or two for me, or a large pot for a group of friends. My tea pots are lovely but, trying to find a multi cup infuser for the larger pots is not easy. Something that allows the tea leaves to expand and be surrounded by water to extract the flavor and scent of the leaves. The Schefs Multi Cup Tea Infuser is a nice size, the stainless steel and workmanship is very fine quality. I would like like to see them come out with a similar one even bigger for the large pottery family tea pot. I would definitely recommend Schefs and hope to shop with them again.
