Review: Great Product - I bought this for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. It's been two days and she can't put it down. Like most kids, she loves to doodle and I was burning through way too much paper. This definitely solves that problem. I think a lot of the discussions/reviews already give a good background of the device, so I wanted to write my review to address some of those things instead. 1) It doesn't have a save feature. But I knew that before I bought it. Quite frankly, its not really that big of an issue. Of the millions of art projects the kids do, how many do you actually keep anyway. Almost all of them end up in the trash anyway at some point. So having a save button is not that big of a deal. And if it ever was, in this day and age, most of us have cameras on our phones, we can simple take a picture of their design. The makers do however make another version of this item which you can save and connect up to your computer for $99. Honestly though if you are going to spend $99 on that version, you might as well kick in a few extra $$ and get a Kindle Fire or a Nexus 7. They are Android tablets that let you do SO many more things than just doodle. Plus you can doodle in full color and not just black and white. 2) Some people complain that it isn't bright enough. I'm not quite sure what they are talking about here, because I can see everything just fine. Granted, I have only used it indoors though. Maybe outside in direct sunlight may pose an issue. But that's an issue with most electronic devices, not just this one. 3) It acts just like a normal tablet. You don't need a lot of pressure to draw on it and you can improvise with your finger nails and stuff like that. Just don't use anything sharp or you'll scratch the protective coating. 4) I have the newer version. Some people have commented on the older versions having a switch to lock in your design so you can't accidentally erase it. I looked all over and could not find any such switch on the new versions. Again, this is not really an issue though for us. The erase button is positioned at the top and you need a little pressure to make it erase. So accidentally bumping the button and erasing shouldn't be an issue. 5) The new version comes with the magnets and stylus clip in the package, so if you order the newer one there is no need to purchase the extra kit. 6) I got this primarily for my daughter for random doodling, but it also works great for homework as well. I gave her a spelling test and had her write down all the words as I said them. Overall, I am very impressed with this item. If I were to do it over again, I would definitely buy it again. Its a great bang for the buck item.
Review: CR2025 BATTERY IS IN FACT USER REPLACEABLE - Amazing and simple tool to reduce the waste of writing things on a post-it note, only to throw it away later. This can take the place of thousands of post-it notes for short term holding. And after 8 years, the battery died in it and it stopped erasing. But the BATTERY IS USER SERVICABLE. You can take the 4 small screws off the back, and replace the CR2025 battery in it. Easy enough. Now it's can probably go another 8 years. Not sure why the Boogie Board company just didn't advertise from the start that the CR2025 is user replaceable with a tiny screw driver.

**Q: In real layman terms how does this TAB work  ????**
A: it works like an etchaskech, hit the clear button to start again

**Q: I have this. My battery died. Am I just supposed to throw it away now? It was a lot of money.**
A: There is no battery compartment on the unit. The Boogie Board 8.5 is supposed to be good for 50,000 resets. That is a lot of resets. It is a throw away unit

**Q: Is there a limit to how many times it can be erased, then rendering it useless at that point?**
A: Yes, there is a limit and while 50,000 seems like a lot of uses my 2 toddlers got a hold of ours and played with it for about 2 weeks on and off in the car and such and that was that! So, probably OK for the occasional use by an adult or mature child, but don’t let a toddler get a hold of it! I’m going to look into the kid version to see if it is any better.

**Q: Can you erase only part of what you write on it?**
A: They have a different product that allows you to erase a specific area only.

I bought this for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. It's been two days and she can't put it down. Like most kids, she loves to doodle and I was burning through way too much paper. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Need More Than Just One

Well I bought this product due to the fact that at work I go through paper post-its a lot. Most of the time with quick notes to remind me of things that come up daily. I figure this would be the perfect addition for me at work and I would save the company money by not using so many post-its. Problem is I have not taken it to work because my 6 and 3 year old have pretty much claimed it as there own. I will be buying two more one for work and the other for my home office. This is a great little product and I am very happy with it. My only problem is that I got it from Amazon Warehouse Deals and when the product came the screen portion looked like a screen protector gone wrong. There was scratches on the screen and all around the edges it looks as if has air bubbles. I do not fault the product for this and that is why I give it 5 stars. As for Amazon Warehouse shame on you for sending a product in that condition it should have never been listed for resale. Will I send it back NO its not worth Amazon losing money on shipping and myself losing time to take it back. My kids are happy to take it off my hands and they are not complaining about the imperfections. Pros: light weight slim perfect size for your desk a little bigger taller than a mouse pad stylus is very well constructed Cons: really have none, for the price you pay it is a great product Amazon Warehouse in the end I am happy with everything I have purchased in the past. This was just one of those times it did not work out well in my favor. I will continue to buy from the warehouse since you do give some incredible deals. Again kids are happy and you make returns a breeze, and I do not see the need to take it from them.
