I live in a warm climate so I don't have a ton of experience buying "serious" winter clothes, but I needed a better coat for traveling to snowy mountain areas. I'm really pleased with this coat! I wore it in the mountains when the temperature was around 15 degrees F, and with proper layers underneath I was really comfortable.I also wore this coat on a trip to Denmark in late November, where the weather was cool (40s F) and wet the entire time. I felt warm enough without having to layer too heavily underneath, and the coat kept me dry in the rain. I also like how lightweight this coat is, it's very convenient for travel and walking around a city.Design-wise, the coat is actually quite cute, especially with the belt. It's also got lots of pockets and helpful features like a 2-way zipper, which is great for those of us w/ hips to unzip a little bit from the bottom when sitting down. It has elastic inner cuffs around the wrists, which are great for keeping out the chill.I'm usually a size small (5'4", 135 lbs., US size 6), but I ended up getting this coat in a Medium to allow for more layering underneath.Overall, I love this coat and would strongly recommend it for anyone who needs an affordable but warm winter coat.

I'm 5 foot-4, 130 lbs, and I got a small in mineral pink. This coat fit perfectly, and I loved the belt to cinch in the waist. It's just the right length, same with the sleeves, I love the extra zipper pockets, etc. The only thing I would change is that I would make the hood detachable. Unfortunately it's not, and when I zipped the coat all the way up and buttoned it at the neck, it felt a little tight. There are some little "bungie" like cords on the hood that I think I need to adjust to make it more comfortable but not a big deal. Love the pink -- I like colors other than black in the winter!

I specifically bought this for a rainy cold week in Paris. It delivered and then some. It fits true to size and is a very flattering cut which is further enhanced with the belt. It kept me warm and dry. Lots of pockets for gloves, hats, phones. The fur on the hood is removable. It was a very good buy for the money. I bought the flint grey but it was more of a light khaki. I still like it but not the color I expected. Would recommend very highly.

The coat is very nice and warm. But fits a little snug around the armpits. Thick sweaters would be uncomfortable. Color is more of a slate gray not black.

I bought this for travel to the Netherlands at christmas. So so happy with my purchase. It is great for winter weather. I’m taking it to Boston and then Europe. This is so well made and the hat comes off as well. The insulation is great as well. Wearing it open when it was not as hot was great. The look is so clasic. Nice cut for women’s frame. I al 5’7 140 lbs. and it fits great with a little room if you were to wear something that is thicker. The best part for me is that I can wear a thin sweater or Henley and be warm outside but not hot inside. So adorable!

Forgot to write the review for this item. It was purchased for daughter to take with her to Poland during Spring break college trip. It is still cold over there during March. The coat fit her perfectly, not heavy but provided her with warmth during all the sight seeing she did - over all she loved the coat. It has been cleaned and is ready for another fall / winter season.

Loved the style, warmth, and amount of pockets on this coat. It was so well made and overall comfortable, but unfortunately was too small across the chest and under the arms. I couldn’t wear it comfortably without feeling like my arms would eventually fall asleep. Such a bummer since the style and quality are wonderful. Sadly, had to send it right back.

I love this jacket! I couldn't decide because I live in a fairly warm climate and was afraid it looked more like a snow jacket, but it's the perfect mix of warmth, style and weight. The jacket feels thin although the hood (esp with the fur) makes it look like a heavier coat. Wearing it is cozy and comfy, its fine in the rain and it looks nicer than most as the belt can be cinched. It seems durable. I highly recommend it!

I got myself a blue one years ago from store. It fits a little tight but it is a very lady cut so it is very good looking and feminine. My mom loves it so I got her the burgundy colour. Both S and M fit fine.

I love the jacket it is a nice creamy white and looks stylish like the picture. It is not as warm as the Lay D Down II. Just good enough for -20C weather with a sweater underneath. The sizing between the regular size jackets and the plus size jackets is different. I have a Lay D Down II in regular size 1x which is a little snug so I bought this one in 2x plus size. The jacket itself is way too big but the belt is too small, I can only use the last two belt holes. I should have bought the 1x plus size. I purchased a return so it is possible the belt was switched.

I absolutely love this jacket. I was looking for a waterproof, warm jacket, thats not too bulky or shapeless. I love how well this jacket is tailored, the belt cinches it in at the waist for even more added shape. The color is... odd but ok as a neutral. It keeps me warm with nothing more underneath than a thin shirt. Keeps the rain out, and in the pacific north west that's an absolute must. It's not too utilitarian looking either which I love. It has NINE pockets. NINE. For a woman's garment thats unheard of but very welcome. I cannot recommend this jacket more. Don't see myself wearing it in the thick of winter, but up to maybe just above freezing temperatures it should be just fine.Size up for sure. I'm usually a size large and I got the XL, and it fit perfectly. Columbia sizing can be tricky and is one of the more annoying parts about the brand. I have garments that range from medium to xl from them, they must work harder to standardize. They DO make great jackets though.

This jacket fits true to size. Love the double zipper and removable hood/fur. The omni heat will provide that extra layer for warmth.
