## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this latch hold the doors firmly together?  Can't find one that doesnt allow them to move considerably when latched.**
A: This latch once installed will have around 1/4" play or movement. This is intentional to allow easier opening and closing with a thumb latch.

**Q: How far does it stick out from the door once installed?**
A: There's a knob on the drop bar that needs 1 1/4 inches clearance.  There is a 45 degree latch (the fixed part on the right side of the photo) that sticks out slightly more than 1 1/4 inches.

**Q: is the knob on both sides to allow opening from either side?**
A: Knob is only on one side but doesn’t appear to be needed on both sides. Works great as it.

**Q: Does the drop lever swivel 180 degrees so it can be used on double doors either left or right opening.**
A: The prior answer is correct.  That said, it can be used for either a left or right opening.  The first strap holds the bar in place and limits it to clearing the top of the second open strap.  You would just put the second strip on the side that you wanted with the open top up.  The two straps are not connected to the bar.  They merely slide on to the bar.  I almost did not use the first/inside strap, but it looks better if you do.

We used these latches on our vintage looking pantry doors. I love the way they look. They’re easy to open and work so well with our decor. I did notice some of the paint/powder coating had chipped off on one corner. It doesn’t really show nor does it affect the way it functions, so we’re happy with it.

nice quality but I wish it did not use flathead screws. just took a little longer to install as had to pre drill holes. I guess the Phillip head look would not look old fashion enough. otherwise, looks good and works good.
