Is this for the Nano?

I have no experience with the Nano. The fastclix drums have lancets. If you use the multiclix with your lancing device, the fastclix won't fit it.

New diabetic, my insurance will only pay for certain meters. i do like the cartridge lancets though. could these be used with freestyle lite meter?

Yes. These cartridge lancets work with any meter systems as they have nothing to do with the meter itself. I am on my third meter system. All the lancets do is pierce your finger in order to draw the blood. I love these because are they disposable and no risk for infection and very inexpensive.

does box contain 102 drums with 6 lancets each or just 102 lancets

17 drums times 6 lancets each = yep 102 :-) And I really like this system and I usually use the setting of 1 1/2 on fingertips, sometimes 1, 2 not very often, which is much better than the normal dart type I used to use! Dale

Do I buy a separate holder for canister? Is everything covered by Medicare? Does needkle retract after use for operator safety?

I initially got mine by prescription, and then there was a procurement problem for the drug store and I then went online where you can buy a holder/applicator and several canisters together in a good priced very reasonable package. I also bought several boxes for backup. Normally, my medicare covers it. The needles are retracted normally, you just insert into the holder/applicator aligning the bump/protrusion together and it automatically is on #6, with each use in count's down automatically but you have to move/flip the lever for every advancement of the needle cylinder. To use you place the hole in the bottom where you want the puncture and then push the top/tip down and it will click and stab you. You can use the same needle more than once as there is no 'fail safe' to using the same needle more than once. You move the lever just prior to each use, then you don't get any duplication's/double use's of each needle. When you have used the last one (#!) you pull off the used canister, toss into trash and insert a new one! Simple!

Love this glucose monitor!!!

You get what you pay for. I bought one of those $29 meters and it broke after a few uses. So I went for the Accucheck which is a well-known and respected brand. Cost $90 but what a difference in quality! My Accucheck is easy to use and super fast! Takes a tiny bit of blood, and comes with controls so you can check the accuracy of the meter and stix. The lancet device is brilliant - load a little drum which has 6 lancets in it and you never have to worry about dealing with any sharp points. It's also almost painless - the lancets are really thin so you don't have sore fingers. I didn't bother with the phone app as I prefer to just write my BS down, so I can't review that part. Also comes with a case that holds the lancet device, meter and box of test strips. I had trouble opening the case at first but figured it out - would be nice if it was mentioned in the instructions - but overall I am really happy with my purchase. Also from what I could figure out, everything was made in Switzerland - no China junk here!!!!

Almost as good as the QuikClix used to be

I had used the QuikClix for years, and really liked it. Not sure why they switched it to this one as it's not quite as easy to use but still WAY better than individual lancets. Still recommended....
