I have used Reotemp compost probe thermometers in all sorts of conditions and in compost for a variety of ag and food wastes. Quick reading, tough, accurate (and easy to calibrate). Get the guard, you'll appreciate it for field work. Worth the cost!

Best heavy-duty thermometer I've ever used.
Works as advertised. Very sturdy and heavy-duty and concurs when used alongside other thermometers. I chose this instrument after seeing it on many different YouTube videos.At first I thought it was a bit pricey but upon arriving in the mail it's very heavy-duty and easy to use. I would suggest this to be purchased when needing such a thermometer.
