Operation Daybreak (1975) NTSC, 1,2,3,4,5,6 All Region dvd

This review concerns the different available DVD editions of this film. The Warner Archive DVD is fine, and is full screen. This has a white cover. There is another, Korean edition, with a black cover, which is substandard. It looks as if it has been filmed from a television screen. It should be avoided, and does not deserve any stars!

Finally, I managed to find a decent quality copy of this movie. As others have said, avoid the one with the black cover, the WB Archive Collection version with the white cover is the one you want. Yes it is more expensive but unless you want to watch something that looks like someone recorded it on a VHS camcorder from a portable TV, it's the one you want. Still no forced subtitles for the non-English dialogue though hence it drops a star.

Thie film is based on a true story. The plot is great and the cast of actors really brilliant. The whole thing is base on , loyalty, honour and friendship. With the ultimate demise of the bad guy. Its very watchable as the plot thickens the more intense the action gets. But right at the end of the film there is a tribute to the bravery of the men involved and the population of occupied Poland.

Don't buy this product.The film itself is a great film but for some reason, the amateurs who put this DVD together cut a few corners.Occasionally in the film the dialogue changes to German. It is quite important to the film that the viewer understands exactly what is being said but i don't speak german. Unfortunately neither does the person who wrote the subtitles. If you turn the english subtitles on in the german parts they come on for around 20 seconds and but don't actually corresponded with what is being said. Then they go off again leaving just the dialogue in German. . Its like they tried guessing what was being said and then just give up. The quality of the film isn't brilliant either.You can catch this film on TV. There is a version where the subtitles are featured entirely and are also correct.

This DVD was in Korean with English subtitles. This was not made clear when I ordered this. I am desperately looking for an English version. The film was made in English. Not sure why this is so difficult to get.

The actual story is based on fact and is fascinating, but the quality of the DVD is very poor, seems like it has been copied from an old video tape?I appreciate that the film is over 40 years old but this is bad!

Always remember this film from my childhood ,it’s got a great historical aspect and has some iconic actors.The music is so great and helps put the viewer on edge during some scenes,it’s a magnificent watch and shows the lengths the allies went to,to overthrow the Nazi hierarchy.

Seems similar to a pirate copy, not that well mastered.Good film but deserves better.
