These are not one of those products. When I first got them I had the knee jerk reaction to send them back as the stitching in the fingertips seemed uncomfortable and irritating. I decided to "ride it out" as it were, and for a while it did bother me somewhat. It didn't cause pain or soreness, just a mild irritation for a few days. I will say that after a while they broke in nicely and seem to be properly durable. I have been wearing them exclusively for almost 5 months now and they look as good as new. I haven't had occasion to test out there suitability for a crash and hope that I never have the opportunity. But I think they would be more than adequate. Aside from the initial discomfort they have been very good gloves.
