This Moravian star is so easy to assemble. It unfolds like a fan! You insert the bulb, fold over, fasten the clips, and it is ready to hang. It is lovely! Feels sturdy enough to handle the Christmas season.

EDIT: I hung this outside and it worked well for a week, and it was beautiful! But then it wouldn't light up, so I replaced the batteries, but it still wouldn't light up. I took out the bulb, looked it over, and it didn't appear that any of the filiments were burned, but I was going to buy an new bulb, just in case. However, I couldn't find exactly the same bulb on Amazon, so I started talking to customer service. They said it was from a seller so they would have to get back with me. They never contacted me, so I returned it for a refund. I haven't decided if I'm going to rebuy it, or a different one), again. Just waiting til they post my refund. I bought this Moravian Star to use on my deck/gazebo for Christmas decoration. I got it earlier this week (still October), so I went ahead and put it together, which was super easy. But I haven't yet used it, because I won't hang it until after Thanksgiving. I haven't yet set the timer, because it's too early. Once I do, I will come back to this and add information.

Easy to put together thanks to videos provided by other reviewers; never read the directions. I loaded it with 4 brand new AA batteries and it’s pretty bright. My husband turned the timer on them used our extendable pool pole with some open pliers taped on the end to hook the star over a small tree branch some 20 feet up. It was fun watching him trying to hook the little hook on a branch. We laughed a little over this clumsy act but it worked. You do have to put it up at dusk as I believe it starts once you hit the timer. This plastic star survived a nor’easter rain storm with 45-60 mph gusting winds. It was bouncing all around and getting beat up against the tree with zero damage. I’m quite happy with this purchase! I’ll update this review later with a day and night pix. You know at first I thought I messed up by getting the battery operated one instead of the plug in but now I realize this is much better as battery op allows for all kinds of installs. Got the 18 inch diameter one.

When I finally got around to assembling the star it immediately broke when the spring on the battery compartment suddenly popped out. Figures it happened two days after the last day to return the star. This is the second one I purchased. The first one worked a while then suddenly will not light up. Now I have two Moravian stars neither one lights up!

This star arrived on time and is truly what I wanted as I want battery operated christmas decorations to avoid dealing with cords etc. However, the light bulb does not truly light the entire star to the end of its points. And after a week the batteries are running low already so I will have to rethink battery operated decor. I expected more from this product for the money I paid.

It took me a few minutes to make sure I was doing assembly correctly, but once I knew I had it right, the assembly took only a minute each. The 6-hour timer means I don't need to worry about going out into the cold to shut them off. They really light up our dark porch!

I am very happy with this star! It adds the extra added touch to my outdoor holiday decorations. The quality is good, the instructions were easy to understand, and it’s easy to use. The timer option is perfect! It lights up beautifully!

The star is pretty and fairly easy to put together. I love the timer feature and that the lightbulb came included with it.The timer goes for 6 hours daily, but after a couple of weeks it got dim and went out completely. This happened to me and also to my mom, who had the same one.I was able to find the bulb size from the Q&A section and ordered replacement bulbs from Amazon. The packs come in 3 so I’ll just plan on replacing the bulb every couple of weeks next year.

I took a long time to decide to purchase this star because the price seemed very high. I wish that I bought it sooner though because it was well worth it. The plastic is not flimsy and it was very easy to put together. Also easy to change the batteries. The timer feature is great to have it automatically come on and turn off. I love it and it looks great hanging in my front porch.

Batteries are easy to change and look really pretty. However, just expect the batteries to slowly die and after about 2 weeks they still turn on with the timer but is very dim.

I was so excited to purchase this beautiful star, but what a disappointment it has proven to be. The product comes with a lightbulb that is quite dim and hardly illuminates the star. Much more wattage is required to light up the whole thing and make it truly visible in the dark. Given it is supposed to replicate the star of Bethlehem in the dark sky, you’d expect it to be far brighter. Unfortunately, attempts to purchase a brighter bulb on my own have proven fruitless, because the bulb base and socket size (E10) are not commonly used. I wanted to hang it from a tree in my front yard, but, in the end, it’s not worth the bother. if you were planning to hang it outside, save your money and look for something else.
