## Description

Product Description Experience truly spectacular picture quality along with endless entertainment options with the DMP-BDT460 Smart Network 3D Blu-ray Disc Player from Panasonic. With built-in 4K up-scaling and 2D to 3D conversion, you’ll experience the visual thrill of a movie theater in your very own home. Enjoy a wide variety of multimedia content with built-in WiFi. Seamlessly view and enjoy music, photos, movies and other content from compatible smartphones and tablets on your big-screen TV. Two HDMI inputs and Ultra-HD JPEG-format playback on the DMP-BDT460 allow you to enjoy your content with superior clarity. From the Manufacturer 4K up-scaling instantly analyzes and compensates the luminance and color for each pixel in the output signal from Full HD Blu-ray Disc media. It also up-converts to 4K video signal (8M pixels) for improved resolution and richer textural expression. For you, it means movies at home with a level of image quality - and enjoyment - virtually equivalent to Ultra HD digital cinema.

Review: Quality & Feature Set vs. Price -- Can't Go Wrong - Pros: Price -- maybe not the absolute cheapest out there, but certainly worth the minimal extra for the included features and quality; picture quality on blu-ray discs and HD streaming (especially Vudu HDX) is outstanding; setup was incredibly easy -- plugged everything in, ran through the setup routine on the player and everything just worked; the player's UI is very nice; the unit itself is nice and small, especially in terms of depth -- about half the size of my old DVD player. Cons: Remote is okay, but it seems a waste to include even minimal TV controls that only work with Panasonic TVs; UI on Viera Cast is not as pretty as the player's home screen UI, and can be a little sluggish (though once you get to streaming something it works just fine); Not a concern for me as my router is close enough for a wired ethernet connection, but Wifi on this unit requires an expensive add-on piece (you'd be better off opting for one of the step-up models with built-in Wifi if you need it). Overall I'm quite satisfied. I've had none of the Netflix login problems I've read about in other reviews. Getting to the point of entering login info was admittedly a bit confusing for a minute, but a careful reading of the on-screen directions helped me to figure it out. I don't have a 3D TV so I can't comment on the 3D features. DVD upconversion seems to work fine. I'm not sure it looks any better than my old non-upconverting DVD player, where my TV did the work of any necessary conversion. As stated above, the picture quality on blu-ray discs is phenomenal. A noticeable difference over cable and over-the-air broadcast HD in my area. Images from the Vudu service at the HDX 1080p quality were just about as good (and as of this writing they offer a $5.99 credit for new accounts). HD streaming on Netflix was very good, probably on par with or better than cable. It seems just a bit better than it is on my Roku XD, which itself is quite good. If you're looking for a blu-ray player in the $100 neighborhood, this one gets my vote.
Review: About to buy my second.... - Netflix works great (with latest firmware) desertcart Video on Demand works great (Enter key pauses, not the pause button) Pandora works great Blu Ray discs look amazing DVDs upconvert well Device will output to HDMI, optical audio, analog audio, and composite video at the same time (except if you do 24p blu ray, separate mode)! This was huge for me to be able to support an HD projector and older analog LCDs from the same box. PS3 will not, many devices will not. Iphone remote app not released yet, but anxiously awaiting it. I did not buy this for 3D and have no immediate plans to go there. Marketing is heavy for that feature, but this is just a great player/streamer/set top box. I struggled over WD Live, Roku, Google TV, HTPCs, PS3, etc... for a long time. Finally this was released and it does almost everything. For only a few bucks more than a media streamer, you get a blu-ray/dvd player built right in. Menus are intuitive ...within 10 minutes I had already set up my pandora, netflix, desertcart VoD and was streaming. Perfect? No. Menus are acceptable, but not snappy to load. Sometimes netflix appears to drop frames w/ 5mbps fibre connection (screen will blank occasionally on some movies, not all, maybe a half dozen times through a movie if it seems to have the issue). desertcart streams have been flawless. Annoying that the iPhone app isn't out yet, after all it was a selling point for me. I have not yet tried local drives for audio/video ...or LAN files for that matter. I didn't really buy this device for that, but now I'm hoping I can get my media through here too. This only supports a wired network connection out of the box, which was fine for my application. FYI, If you want wifi built in get the BDT210. That step up also gets you some tube audio effects and a touchless disc tray opening feature. If you don't care about the 3D or iPhone control (or some other AV upgrades) the BD75 is also quite capable and supports most of the same features.

### ⭐ WORKED GREAT....for 2 months.
*by T***D on April 23, 2012*

For a short time, this player was awesome, but after 2 months, it started to have video drop-outs, which continued until it happened every few seconds. Normally, I would say, "No problem, stuff happens, it's in warranty, all is good." However, the policy at Panasonic doesn't allow for repair, but instead they send you a refurbished player in what they call an "exchange." The bottom line is that I paid for a new product that lasted a few months, but the replacement is a refurbished product, which sells for about $40 less. I am not happy with Panasonic's "warranty" program. Aside from the fact that this player crashed and burned, the good news is that if you happen to get one that works, it is a great player. I particularly like the load time. When I sent back the player for repair, I used an older Sony while waiting for the exchange. In comparison, the load time is so long, I found myself looking to see if the player was on. Also, there is a noticeable improvement in picture quality. Hope you have better luck with the quality issue, but can't really say you shouldn't buy one. UPDATE: 7-12 - I have returned this product 3 times. Finally, the third "refurbished" product seems to work OK, but have only been using it for a few weeks. While it has been frustrating, Panasonic has been reasonable to deal with by paying for the shipping both ways, following the first return. Still, had I to do it over again, I would have chosen a different player.
