The original bag (couldn’t call it a sheath) finally disintegrated after many years. This sheath should have been original equipment. Heavy padded nylon with rivets to prevent cut through. The belt loop is wide and heavy strapping material. I usually never carried it on my belt but may now. I liked it enough to buy another for my 18 inch Ontario machete.

There is very little available by way of sheaths for machetes' either short, or long ones. While I dont think I'd try to wear this one a belt, it will protect your blade, and other items if carried in, or strapped to, a pack.
