Helps with odors.
The Filtrete AC Furnace Filters are a bit more expensive but we like them since they help remove odor.

Works well! Sized to fight tight.
Odor removal works well for my 980 Sq ft loft. I can't speak to how well it works in a large multi-level home. Filter is sized to fit your openings tightly which I like. But if your filters slide in that could be a pain depending on your opening size. I'd check the actual filter size with your opening size. Otherwise, they're awesome.

Product mislabeled
Air Flow "arrow" pointing in wrong direction. Wire mess should be placed inside with air flowing toward wire mess side.

The carbon makes a huge difference with odors.
This is quality product, and worth the extra cost if you are concerned about odor removal in your home.

No more smoke smells
I live in an area that is prone to experiencing smoke from wildfires. These filters excel at eliminating the smoke smell that lesser filters didn’t stop.

A Solid 4 Star Filter For Wildfire Smoke
This is a good, solid filter. I have used these before. I do not give them 5 stars because this is advertised as an allergen filter but 3M Filtrete makes better filters for allergies and asthma that remove more particulates from the air. Unfortunately, this is the only filter that 3M makes that includes active carbon that helps to remove wildfire smoke from the air. When new, it does a MUCH better job cleaning smokey air in our house than a Filtrete MPR 1900 or 2200. However, it doesn't do as good a job with other particulates like pet dander. Don't ask me why - I am simply going by what our eyes and lungs tell us. My wife's eyes and my lungs do much better/don't burn at all with the carbon filters in the furnaces when the wildfire smoke blows in. We just set the fans/blowers in our two furnaces to 'Summer' mode and they run 24/7 when the smoke is bad; it continuously filters the air and keeps the inside of our house clean and odour-free.However, when the smoke clears out, I have to switch back to the Filtrete 2200 filters to clean the air of pet dander and pollen, something the Filtrete Charcoal 1200 cannot do a great job of.I wish 3M would make a charcoal or carbon filter with a higher MPR or MERV rating so it would collect other ultrafine particulates in addition to forest fire smoke so we weren't switching filters back and forth but that is me just being lazy I guess. They obviously have their reasons for making this middle-of-the-road charcoal filter but I hope they make a better, do-it-all version considering the more regular summer wildfires on the west side of North America each year.I hope this has been helpful!

They work...reduces the odours from pets and cooking effectively.
I've been using Filtrete filters on my furnace for years, especially in allergy season. But with a house full of dogs and some adventurous cooking techniques, the house picks up a certain odour over the course of the winter when the windows are closed and air is exchanged only infrequently with outside. Activated charcoal is great for absorbing odours, so this filter makes sense fro a scientific view, but does it work? I placed the filter in my furnace, and within two days noticed a change in the smell of the air. It's a subtle effect at first, but as the time went by I began to notice walking into my house from outside meant no assault with dog or food smells like before! I have yet to find out how long these filters will last in a busy house, but I've now started using these Odour Reduction filters in place of the normal Filtretes in the closed-house months.

I like these filter for my 20 inch fan in the window. There great for fire smoke.
However most times when I receive them from Amazon; the wrapping is falling off. These filters are used to absorb bad smells. Once these filter reaches their maximum absorption rate; that part of the filter does not work. When I get them who knows what smells these filters have already absorbed. So I will be not buying them from Amazon because of the lack of packaging and because the absorption rate has been compromised. These filters are expensive for a reason.

Price was very competitive to what I'd found locally and I could not come close to this brand/style anywhere
I have purchased the following and found them totally useless:- ToxBox (now very hard to find and do NOT work as stated- HEPA brand made by who knows, expensive and just a name, not a function of what they do- Other Filtrete pleated types, not so goodThese are so far the best I've used here is why:- Flow rate does not diminish like other brands and ToxBox really kills flow rates and that is about it.- Charcoal coating (perhaps) keeps odour at bay if that is an issue- Air smells really clean- Reduced dust in the house compared to the other brands i've noticedOverall, I am more than pleased with these, be sure to mark the date on them when you install, keep it to 3-months (winter time)We use these in conjunction with an air ionizer during the winter months to keep the house smelling fresh (be sure you leave the house when operating an ionizer, it's not good to be exposed directly, it needs to dissipate)Price was very competitive to what I'd found locally and I could not come close to this brand/style anywhere

Merci.Roger
